Xbox series X and sales to existing customers under account store

Well it is frustrating. I’ve been paying Microsoft since 360 but it’s painfully clear they are following the Verizon business model of screwing existing customers. It appears Microsoft’s goal is to get gen 5 consoles in the hands of gamers that play most platforms, undecided customers, and current PS users. They should have sold S/X under accounts store first, not last or never. But! the good news is you can have one tomorrow! As long as you lease it along with game pass. If you discount the amount backwards using projected rates, your real cost is over $1,000! Double the “advertised” cost of the S/X. There is no shortage of these consoles, but most go to…..crooks basically. Earlier this week on Microsoft’s site they listed retailers for new consoles for $499. The only one with stock was Walmart. But if you clicked the link it did take you to available S/X, and from Walmart, but for $849. Microsoft gets no payback and thus incentives to help get new consoles in the hands of current customers. I’ve been waiting four years for a new console where I can play fallout 4 more than ten minutes before a crash. I also play WoT, and have years of a large account built up. But bit by bit they have turned a strategy team game into a fast battle mobile app type game where I’m willing to give that up. So I guess it’s time to think about going to Sony. They are having stock issues on consoles, but they are not screwing existing customers like Microsoft.

One those are marketplace resellers NOT actual walmart when you see it on on Wal-Mart for 800 bucks

They did link it to existing users thru finance getting it by gold won't solve your problem as you would still be able to resell it

At least with finance you get 2 years of live and a console for 749 plus tax

They could have maybe handled the release better....but then you can also say the same of Sony (Playstation) as well as both NVIDIA and AMD (for PC CPUs and GPUs). Ultimately, they were going to disappoint a lot of people regardless of how it was handled.

I am curious? How do you get a real cost of over $1000 for a SSX bought on the finance? Does it work differently in the United States? I only ask as, in the UK, a Series X bought on finance costs exactly the same as one bought outright and then has UGP 24 months added....obviously the price doesn't acocunt for any cost of living increases, inflation etc but it wouldn't be a huge amount over 2 years

I also bought the wrong version, I want a refund to purchase the correct version. They shouldn’t sale the wrong version on Xbox series x store. I can’t get in contact with anyone for help, very bad customer support

To get a console for a lower cost, you would need to get a sale on Xbox One or Series X|S consoles from a store. Microsoft cannot give an exclusive discount, sadly.
