Xbox series X and PS5 scalper

I guess once the scalpers chill out I will be buying a PS5 and say no to Series X.

Scalpers wouldn't be much of an issue if people stopped buying from them,

The more that people are willing to pay a higher price, just to get what they want, than just to wait for stock's come back will only increase the amount of scalpers there are,

The more scalpers there are, the faster stock's will sell out and the more people will panic and pay the higher prices of these scalpers, which in turn creates more scalpers, which means stock's sell out even faster next time around, It's a vicious cycle
that only going to get worst if people don't stop buying from scalpers.

I've barely just managed to get my PS5 Pre-order down, but with the huge disaster of the PS5 Pre-orders that's gone on, I'm not sure if my Pre-order will get me one on launch day,

Which it does have me worried about the Xbox Series X Pre-orders, However Xbox has been clear with their Pre-order time and date, I hope they stick to it, unlike the major disaster of the PS5 Pre-orders.

I hope to get my Series X Pre-order in when the Pre-orders go live.

If Xbox cared about loyalty to us xbox members. 19 years of live on my end. They should of sent us a link to purchase them first before they did the preorder. There is almost 5,000 on ebay in comparison to 1,600 for Ps5. Sony did it right because more
gamers got the Ps5 while more scalpers got series x systems.

You do realize we have two global crisises right?

The pandemic that affects shipping and supplychain and the worldwide chip shortage not helped by miners nvidia and amd are already seeding counter measures like cards that downgrade over time when used for MINING

The chip shortage is also affected by consumers

And since we are less then a year into the launch scalpers have been around and consoles are always in short supply with the chip shortage not helping and with people buying new cars fridges computers and electronic the demand for silicone isn't going to end

Normally console shortages last at least a year

However now vehicles were being made by the millions and more miners are mining cause of the current crisis and people are desperate to make money and the easiest way to do that is mining with people flocking to safer routes like crypto

You are going to be in it for the LONG HAUL

The chip shortage isn't going to end anytime soon

Till the new silicone factories open which you are looking at least 2 year if car manufacturers and gamers keep buying new chips the shortage will only get worse

You have to wait awhile as chips in next gen uses 14nm proccess which is really tiny and consoles become smaller again then theynuse less silicone

The only way you can fight scalpers is fighting them with your wallet by not paying as they get stuck with consoles it worked in Canada the prices are 800-1000 rather then 1500 in the US

And FYI thrrr are no laws against scalping unless it's an essential good which consoles aren't

It has been happening since forever doesn't matter what device

I paid 480 for my first snes which was a 399 console at the time but due to the high demand only black market options were available

ONLY way ms can do anything about it is if it's a retailer as free market rules doesn't prevent reselling

And people do get the console legitimately and do resell

Times are tough right now you would be Crazy not to sell higher.

If I was bored with my console that is what I would do

Sell my series x for 800 or 1000 with ny expansion card

Scalping is only a problem because of lack of supply, the lack of supply is because of a worldwide chip shortage. This shortage isn't something that's widely brought up on the news and therefore it's not surprising how many people aren't aware of it.

The chip shortage isn't just affecting console production, all semiconductor production has been affected. It's something that's not going to get much better soon either. I wouldn't expect production to get back to normal until the perhaps the second half of 2022.
