Xbox series x and poweroutage/powercut, could it take damage?

    Hi!

Just got the new Series X.

I use surge protector on my other devices, but have not used it on the new Series X since both Xbox One and One X had built in surge protectors, and i dont want to use two if it have one.

Today we had a powercut while i played on the Series X, i was quick enough to remove the powercable from wall outlet before the power came back. In case it does not have built in surgeprotector.

What can happen when it suddently loose power while it’s in use?

I have heard without powersurge you can risk damage it when the power return to the house, because of amp spikes happens when power return, but what when it dissaper?

How can i find out if it have surge protector inside the hardware or not?

The thiny manual in the box does not show anything about it.

    :)

they do have surge protection i believe but it will still kill the console with a big enough surge and would need to go for repair. power cutting out while playing could cause file corruption and game save loss or even corrupt the OS that you need to restore.

if you have frequent powercuts i would suggest a UPS backup.
Not frequent but it could happen 2 times a year..

So if i understand you right the spikes only appear when the power comes back on?

And only data can be corrupted as a result since i pulled out the cable before the power came back, but i cant sit home and steer at the power cable and be ready :p

The fusebox in the house have a surge protector to take the biggest spikes. So if i know the xbox series x have the small surge protector to take whats left it would be good.

No places confirm that it have it. But it would be strange if Series X dosnt have it when the old gen had it..

What happens if a small lego piece falls in the the top of your Xbox series X?

Hi Caleb, my name is Oskayra and I will be happy to help you.

If a small piece of Lego falls on top of your Xbox Series X, it most likely won't cause any damage. The Xbox Series X has an internal cooling system that is designed to prevent foreign objects from entering the inside of the console. However, it is possible that the Lego piece could block airflow or cause a short circuit.

If the Lego piece is blocking airflow, the Xbox X Series could overheat and shut down. If the Lego piece causes a short circuit, it could damage the console hardware.

In your case, since the Xbox Series X powers up fine, it is likely that the Lego piece did not cause any damage. However, it is possible that the Lego piece is blocking airflow or causing a noise. If you notice any problems with the Xbox X Series, such as it frequently turns off or makes a lot of noise, it is possible that the Lego piece is causing the problem.

To check if the Lego piece is causing a problem, you can try to open the Xbox Series X. However, this may void the console's warranty, so it is important to be careful. If you decide to open the console, be sure to follow the instructions carefully to avoid damaging it.

If you open the console and find the Lego piece, you can try to remove it carefully. If you are unable to remove it, you can take the console to a repair center to have it removed for you.

    Best regards Oskayra
