  1. Xbox series X Allow HDR issue - LG43UK6300PLB

When I initially bought my Series X I was able to select 'Allow HDR10' in the settings menu but now it is greyed out following the recent system update (beta ring).

I've reset my TV to factory settings, enabled HDMI ultra deep colour as well as looked for any further settings but I cannot get the Xbox to allow HDR. In the '4K TV details' menu it advises 'HDR10 for games & apps is turned off. To turn it on, back up and select video modes>Allow HDR10'

Has anyone had a similar issues and resolved this? I am using the HDMI cable that came with my Series X.

White Flickers while watching movies/streaming? 4k UHD 60hz monitor no HDR

I had the same / similar issue with my old 4K 60hz none HDR / HDMI 2.0 monitor when watching movies and some times in games with the Series X,

As soon as i upgraded my monitor to a 4K 144hz monitor that has HDR / HDMI 2.1 ports, i no longer had this problem,

I'm not sure what the problem is, but my guess is that the HDMI 2.1 port on Series X doesn't play well with HDMI 2.0 port of monitors, or it's the Series X trying to force HDR on, even if the monitor does not have / support HDR and the HDR in Series X menu's is turned off.

    4K/1440p HDR

Microsoft locked hdr to 4k so if ur monitor dont accept 4k signals ( tick allow 4k box in settings must be selected for hdr) it doesnt work on 1080p 1440p displays usually only if they accept 4k signals. Because microsoft locked it since xbox one s and
one x. It is hard to understand why they not allow it now because they have xbox series s 1440p 120hz hdr console right?

Xbox Series X 4K HDR blu-ray to SDR bug

Thank you for your answer, but I think you did not understand my question. To sum up: 4k doesn't matter.

The problem is that hdr blu-rays work fine on ps5 (good colors).

So the HDR to SDR conversion is correct. But on xbox series x, in comparison with ps5, the picture is too dark.

So the HDR to SDR conversion on the xbox series x is bugged. I don't think it's a washout color issue.

Will Xbox Series X/S support HDR for 1440p or 1080p monitors that don't accept 4k UHD signals?

    Hi,

It would seem so looking at this
    link direct from Dolby
. And I'm sure the same would apply to HDR 10 as well.

Since the series is designed to be a 1440P (2560x1440) console, it would be a little silly on Microsoft's part to not allow HDR on Series S/X on none 4K displays.

I'm still at a loss as to why they don't allow it now on Xbox One X. There's no technical reason for it's absence, HDR itself isn't reliant on a 4K resolution to function. The monitor I use for my PC is capable of HDR and it works fine at 1440P on my gaming
PC. My One X doesn't see though.

I'm pretty sure this will change with Series X/S with more and more players opting for gaming monitors with 120Hz refresh rates and freeSync support. 1440P monitors are very popular for cost and performance.

Dimming while watching Netflix. Just started yesterday. Any fix for it?

Check your TV settings: If you are using a TV to watch content on your Xbox Series X, check your TV settings to make sure that any power-saving modes are turned off. Also, make sure that the HDMI input you are using to connect your Xbox is set to a mode that allows for HDR and 4K content, if applicable.

Reset the display settings: You can try resetting the display settings on your Xbox Series X console. To do this, go to Settings > General > TV & display options > Video modes > Allow 4K > Allow HDR. Make sure that both of these options are turned on. Then, go to Advanced video settings > Video fidelity & overscan > Display > Calibrate HDR for games. Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate your display.
