Xbox Series X 120hz Patch for more Monitor Support

I have a Lenovo g32qc-10 and I recently found out the series x doesn't support 120hz on it despite the monitor being able to do 144hz. Are there any plans for future series x patches that will allow for 120hz on more monitors? I hope there is a future
patch as I bought this monitor specifically for series x.

    :)

Does the series x support 1440p 144/155 refresh rate?

The Xbox Series X will do 120Hz but no more, regardless of resolution or monitor.

I would check to see if other Xbox Series X owners have confirmed to achieve 1440p120Hz on those monitors before purchasing.

Maybe a google of "xbox series x 1440p 120hz ___________ " and insert the monitor model to see if people have posted about their monitor and Series X working.

Hmmm that makes sense, because sometimes I join my game in the cold war and the game has 120Hz activated other times not so the console tries to configure 120Hz?

    Hello,

Sometimes need a little update, others is more dificulty than this because the time line between monitors and new gen is diferent.

I strongly recommned you visit the lenovo page
    HERE
and check for updates, or contact a Lenovo specialist.

    Hope you find a solution.

Xbox Series X 120hz Patch for more Monitor Support

    Hi,

The issue here isn't the monitors it's the console. Microsoft have chosen to only support VESA approved refresh timings. The problem is most monitors have custom timings.

So for example, if say your monitors max refresh at 1440P over HDMI was 119.88Hz, but the console expects a more precise timing of 119.98 then the 120Hz option on the console simply won't work and there won't be anything the monitor manufacturer can do about
it either. This is an issue only Microsoft can fix.

Connect the same monitor to a compatible PC and as long as the display supports a 120Hz over HDMI then this will work straight away as PC graphics cards are not held back by only supporting standard timings.

    Hope that makes sense.

You can't use 144Hz as that is a refresh only available via Display Port. The other issue is that PC monitors are primarily marketed towards PC gamers (I'm a PC and console gamer) and their spec sheets and marketing is geared towards this market, as are
90% of reviews on websites and YouTube.

    HDMI Xbox Series S/X

    Hi,

There is more than enough bandwidth for 1440P @120Hz with HDR on an HDMI 2.0 Monitor. On the current consoles Microsoft decided to lock HDR to 4K displays, but with the Series S that won't be an issue anymore.

HDMI standards are backwards compatible, so you won't need an HDMI 2.1 compliant Monitor to use Series X or S on an older monitor or TV that only has HDMI 2.0.

Xbox One X and S can be very fussy when it comes to full monitor support. But if you bought a monitor that fully supports the Xbox One X then it should support the same features on a Series X/S.

My advice would be to check reviews of monitors actually running on the current consoles with 120Hz support. There are loads of videos on YouTube. Just looking at the specs on a website may not be enough.
