Xbox Series S/X Controller not showing up on Windows 11 Bluetooth

I have a brand new Xbox Controller (Carbon Black) that I am unable to connect to my PC over Bluetooth.

I have already updated the controller to the latest firmware using the Xbox accessories app. My PC Bluetooth adapter is Bluetooth 4.0. The controller works great via connection through a USB C cable.

In addition, the controller can connect to my Android phone and Windows 10 laptop, so I am wondering if this is a Windows 11 issue.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

The Series S and X controllers work on same devices the earlier controller can connect to. This includes:

Xbox One Game receiver for Windows 10

Bluetooth (PC, Android, iOS)

Xbox One, One S, X and Series X/S.

You could try contacting the PC manufacturer to see if you need any driver update

Thank you for your response. I have tried all the recommended steps including reinstalling the drivers on Windows 11. May you kindly recommend any alternative steps to take to resolve this issue? Thank you.

If this doesn't work try uninstalling the Bluetooth driver on your PC trough the device manager

Came back to post an update on case anyone else runs into this issue.

Had to get a Bluetooth v5.0 adapter and it immediately connected without any issues.

I believe the Xbox controllers will only connect to Bluetooth v4.1 and above.
