Xbox Series S wont turn on

My Xbox Series S wont turn on, There was a power outage recently so that might contribute to the situation but the power outage wasn't caused by weather or anything of that nature.

So this late afternoon I try to turn on my Xbox and the Xbox won't turn on. I read a lot of forums on how to fix it but nothing will help. For example, It says to disconnect the Power cord in one of them and wait 30 seconds, That didn't work. Another one said to check the outlets. The outlets work and I even used another outlet and the Xbox Series S still didn't turn on. Hard Resetting doesn't work as well.

Also, alot of the forums I've read say that they know there console still works because when they press the on button you can hear a noise or even the power button lights up for a second. There's no noise and the power button doesn't light up.

Please help.

If your Xbox Series S shows no lights, no noise, and won’t turn on at all after a power outage, let’s run through a few more checks before assuming hardware failure:

Try a different power cord

• The Series S uses a standard figure-8 (“C7”) power cable. If you have another cable that fits (from a similar device), swap it out. Sometimes the cable itself can fail even if the outlet is fine.

• If you don’t have a spare, borrow one from a friend or use a power cable from another small appliance just to test.

Check the power port on the console

• Inspect the back of your Series S where the cable plugs in. Make sure there’s no debris, bent pins, or damage inside the port.

• Gently wiggle the cable when plugged in—if you ever see a flicker of light, it can confirm a loose connection.

Hold the power button down longer

• With the cable firmly connected, press and hold the Xbox power button on the front for 15 seconds. Then release, wait 30 seconds, and press it again normally. This can clear any stuck state, even when nothing seems to respond.

Test the outlet under load

• Plug the Series S into a surge protector or uninterruptible power supply (if available) to rule out any weird outlet issues.

• If that’s not possible, try plugging in another appliance (like a lamp) in the same outlet to confirm it truly provides power under load.

Let it sit unplugged longer

• Leave the console unplugged for at least five minutes. Sometimes, a sudden outage can trip an internal fuse; giving it more time can reset that fuse.

If, after all these steps, there’s still no sign of power, no front-panel light, no disc-drive noise, no fan spin, then the internal power supply or another component likely failed. At that point, the console will need a hardware repair. If it’s still under warranty, you can arrange service through the original retailer. If not, a local electronics repair shop familiar with Xbox consoles may be able to fix the internal power board.

And it wont run on a Xbox one S... That is total BS in my opinion..

Not necessarily. If your particular Series S game runs at 1440P and you have the display set to 1440P @60Hz then it will look far better.
