  1. Xbox series S vs Older Vizio m65-c1 4k UHD

    Good evening all,

I finally got my hands on a Series S 2 weeks ago and have had nothing but problems. I have a 2015 Vizio M65-C1 4k Yada Yada. Supposedly supports 4k @ 60hz on hdmi 5. I have played with my TV and box settings up down, left and right to no avail.

Here is what I am seeing. At completely random intervals, the signal drops for a split second. No rhyme or reason. Of course if I plug the hdmi into any other port, no problems. Because it is running @ 1080p 120hz. I would have kept my xbox one if I wanted to keep viewing 1080p.

Yes, the TV firmware is up to date. No, I do not have a receiver in line. I have tried the cable that came with the Xbox, along with high end premium cables. I have tried every video mode on my TV along with every combination of settings for both. I have played with CEC settings, audio (ARC) settings.

At this point, I am half tempted to get a refund on this machine and buy a XB1 again. Especially after having such a challenge just even getting the new Gen.

I am hoping some of you may have run into this or maybe have some new ideas for me to test.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    :)

    Xbox One S HDR issue

    Hey Aiki Man!

Originally, specific Vizio 4K TV's only supported Dolby Vision and not HDR10. Just recently Vizio began rolling out firmware updates that includes HDR10 support for their 4K SmartCast M & P series TV's. For more information, please refer to

    Vizio's HDR10 Firmware Information
page. As noted on that page, this currently applies to M50-D1, M60-D1. P50-C1, P55-C1, P65-C1, and P75-C1. If you do not own one of those models, your TV may not support HDR10 quite yet and you may need to reach out to
Vizio support in regards to that.

Be sure to enable HDMI Color Subsampling on your TV if it is one of the model's mentioned above! Let us know how it goes!
I too am having this issue. I have a brand new XBOX One S, and a brand new Vizio M-Series M65-D0. I went through tech support with Vizio and with MS who, no surprise here, blame each other. My M65 has a built in Chrome Cast (Google Cast) and when I watch
Netflix 4K on the "Cast" input all is well. When watching Netflix or playing games through Xbox with HDR, which I have plugged into HDMI-1 (with color subsampling enabled on HDMI-1) as this is the only port that supports HDR, the issue appears. I have tried
replacing the High Speed HDMI cable that came with the XBO-S as MS suggested, plugged the XBO-S straigh to the wall socket, as MS Suggested, and the issue still persists ONLY with the Xbox. Admittedly, I have not tried another 4k/UHD/HDR source (ie: UHD Blue
Ray player) to see if this issue appears with same.

    Xbox One S HDR issue

Same here, brand new M65-d0. With Xbox One S set to 4K display, with 4K and HDR enabled the screen with either go to 'silent static' or freeze image (while I can hear the game continue in background).

HDR is working, but it appears to cause the M65 to crash when in-game. I do not see this behavior in the Xbox dashboard nor game menus.

According to this post from Vizio CTO on AVSForums, it is known issue?

Hi All - I am having this same issue with my Vizio TV. I've spoken with them and they say the issue is on the Xbox side. Has anyone found out a fix for this?
