    Xbox Series S shuts down when dimming


    Noticed last night that my Xbox kept shutting off after ten minutes of idle time. Hard shut down, no background downloads, nothing. I did a lot of troubleshooting and I can make it hard shut down by pressing x at the home menu where the power options are present. This dims the screen and immediately shuts it down. Not sure what the fix is for this, gonna try to do a reset but just want to post this in case anyone else was experiencing it.

    Maybe Xbox Live is shutting down on the 360 to make way for the series x/series as s?

    Is there a way to deactivate the glowing Xbox button on the controller?

    I'm not sure if it's going to be set up on the classic controller, but when you open the Xbox Accessories application on Xbox, the light in this application dims or shuts down completely.

    There is no screensaver, but energy saving options like turning of the console when not in use.

    But i have seen the screen dimming thing on my XBOX One and think it's a way of saving energy without shutting the console down.

    My energy saving is disabled.

    Xbox one S, Netflix dims screen when HDR is enabled

    I've had the same issue since the one S came out. The only way to stop the dimming effect is to shut off HDR in the Xbox settings. Not sure if this is an MS issue or a Netflix issue. But seeing as I can cast 4k hdr Netflix from my phone directly to the tv
    with no dimming, my money's on MS issue
