Xbox series S share button

Xbox support blows, told me support isn't available for my issue so now I'm asking for everyones help. The other day my controllers share button takes game clips now, not screen shots. I went to settings, it's set to take screenshots. I updated my controllers firmware, resynced my controller but still won't help. it was working fine all this time until a few days ago. I can't seem to find help on that specific issue anywhere online.

I understand you need help on your controller problem.

Try to reset the Xbox first and see if this helps. This might be some settings on the Xbox that is affecting the problem.

NOTE: This will remove the profiles on your console, make sure that you remember the email and password to your account.

No data or game saves will be lost doing this, everything is backed up to the cloud servers.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select Settings.

3. Select System.

4. Select Console info

5. Select Reset console.

6. Select Reset and keep my games & apps

This will also help sync the data on your console properly.

If this is still the same, try a different controller this time and see if the issue is still there. If not, then I would already suggest having the controller repaired.

If your controller has the share button located below the view and menu buttons, then it is an Xbox Series X|S controller. If it does not have a share button, then it is more than likely an Xbox One controller. When looking for third-party accessories going forward, be sure verify that it is compatible with the official Xbox Series X|S controller and not the Xbox One controller, unless you are purchasing an accessory for the Xbox One controller.

Xbox one s or series s ?

If xbox one s then no it has to run thru xcloud as the hardware isn't powerful enough meaning non subscriber accounts can't use it

Series s can run it natively thru home share

If you have an Xbox Series S, press and hold the Xbox button  and the Pair button  instead, as your console doesn’t have an Eject button.
