Xbox Series S saying it's connected to network only in network settings. It doesn't act or...

My Xbox is connected to a network but saying it's not connected nor is it acting like it aside from showing directly from network settings menu.

It's the only device not working properly.

I've tried hard resetting, soft resetting, signing in and out, unplugging everything and letting it sit undisturbed for a night and half day, checking setting, restarting WiFi router.

There's no reason for it to be doing this all other devices that connect to it work and are connected.

I even tried doing all this without the devices connected to same wifi router. Xbox is refusing, just doesn't work like it should.

I can't access anything requiring Internet and a lot of settings are gone because of that.

It's a Xbox Series S; no disk or blue ray to eject as component was taken out of model before selling to consumers as a model feature for cheaper access to Xbox products.

How do I fix and why is it doing this?

    :)

Xbox Series S saying it's connected to network only in network settings. It doesn't act or say it is connected anywhere else. How do I fix this?

It sounds like you've gone through quite a few troubleshooting steps already, so let's try to dig a bit deeper to see if we can resolve this issue with your Xbox Series S.

Firstly, let's try some basic steps to ensure we cover all bases:

    1. Check Network Settings: From the Network settings menu on your Xbox, make sure that the correct network is selected and that it's connected properly. Sometimes, it might be a simple matter of selecting the right network or entering the correct password.
    2. Restart Your Router: You mentioned that you've restarted your Wi-Fi router, but let's try it again. Sometimes, a simple reboot of the router can resolve connectivity issues.
    3. Update Firmware: Ensure that your Xbox Series S has the latest system updates installed. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause connectivity problems.
    4. Check for Interference: Nearby electronic devices or even physical obstacles like walls can interfere with Wi-Fi signals. Try moving your Xbox closer to the router or away from potential sources of interference.
    5. Reset Network Settings: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the network settings on your Xbox. Go to Settings > Network > Network settings > Advanced settings, and then select "Restore to factory defaults." Note that this will erase all network settings and you'll need to set up your network connection again.

When I need to connect to a new network via WiFi my x box series s will refresh but nothing will pop up

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Xbox forum.

It seems that your Xbox Series S will detect nothing after trying to connect to another network. Let's work on this together in finding the best possibl esolution to this issue.

There are a few things you can try to resolve this issue:

    1. Make sure your Xbox Series S is within range of your WiFi network and that the network is turned on and broadcasting.

    2. Restart your Xbox Series S and try connecting to the network again.

    3. Check that your WiFi network is not hidden. If it is, you will need to manually enter the network name and password.

    4. Try resetting your network settings on your Xbox Series S. To do this, go to Settings > Network > Network settings > Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address > Clear.

I hope this helps. Looking forward for your response!

    Sincerely,

    Leonardo_Y

    good evening

Make sure your Xbox Series S has the latest system update. Go to Settings > System > Console Info & Updates and check for updates. Updating the console to the latest version might resolve any bugs or compatibility issues with your network.

Check your network settings on the Xbox Series S. Go to Settings > Network and verify that the console is set to connect to the correct WiFi network, and that the network status says "Connected".

Make sure your router's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues. You can check the router manufacturer's website for information on how to update the firmware.

Make sure your router's security settings are compatible with the Xbox Series S. You may want to try temporarily disabling the security or creating a separate network specifically for your console if your router has multiple network options.

Try forget your network on your Xbox Series S and setup your network from scratch on your Xbox, this might help.

Xbox One S not connecting to Xbox Live

On your Xbox One S while connected to the network kindly test the network connection and I would appreciate it if you will be providing me the error message that you will get.
I don't actually get an error message. If I try to test network speed and statistics, it often says not available for most results. On these consoles, my NAT type is moderate and it says uPnP not successful, but no issues on the Series X. Despite saying that it's connected, I cannot connect to Xbox Live or do anything that requires an internet connection, it simply acts like it isn't connected at all.

No, please look into your network connection. Xbox doesn't act without provocation.
