Xbox series s not showing on tv

Just recieved my series s in the mail about a week ago and already have it on its way back for repairs. Had it plugged in via hdmi and the tv is not recieving output from the xbox. Cord connection is good on both ends amd tv input is correct and when i
try plugging in something else with the same hdmi cable it works perfectly fine. Also tried another tv and still nothing! Factor reset it and got a system error code, then the thing shut off. Its intermitten as well. The display will show once every 50 times
you turn it on. Tried resetting my tv, using another hdmi cable and still nothing. Unplugged system and tv for 24 hours and still nothing. Is there anything i havent tried yet? All i know is this is annoying for somebody just getting in to gaming. Xbox is
leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Hope they resolve this or ill be switching to playstation.

Well no your best would be 1440p by 120hz if your tv would support that

Most games will only support 1080p depending on the tv

You gotta remember the series s is NOT a 4k console

It only upscales movies and TV shows to 4k not games

If you force it to 4k you will drop frames like crazy

Series x and xbox one xis 4k native at 60 and 30hz

Series s and below are 1440p max with recommended 90hz max

check your connections
Try connecting the HDMI cable to another HDMI port on the TV. Try using another HDMI cable to connect the console to the TV. Turn the console on and off by pressing and holding the Xbox button for ten seconds to turn off the console, then turn it back on.

my xbox series x did the same thing its a defective unit sent mine back and a new one is back on its way to me

Does the 1080p support go for both the Series S and Series X, or just the Series S?

1080p is supported by both Series X / S,

However if your only playing at 1080p and have no plan's of upgrading to a 4K TV / Monitor, The Xbox Series S would be recommended as is a 1080p / 1440p gaming console and you would save £/$200, than getting the Series X, as that is a 4K gaming console and
you would never get to use the full potential of it if used on a 1080p TV / Monitor.

What is your TV model number?

Did you set the settings on the console (Series S) to be 1080P?
