Xbox Series S no longer working, can't contact support

    Dear All,

My Series S will not switch on!

Not two days ago I downloaded the Hitman 2 expansion pass for use in Hitman 3 on Xbox Series S from the Microsoft store. After installation I discovered the content was not usable and in game still required "access" (the Hitman 2 levels had a grey message "get access" after having purchased and installed access).

After Installation of this expansion pass my Series S started to play up, it first reset itself whilst watching a Netflix show. Then later whilst playing MS Flight Simulator (Game Pass) the screen froze with a buzzing sound for 3-5 seconds before the console shut down. The console is now dead and I cannot re-start it. I have tried all the trouble shooting options suggested on the MS support pages with no luck. But the infuriating thing is I cannot for love nor money contact Xbox support. I have requested numerous call backs, all have failed.

The said expansion pass has now been refunded through the refund request page.

Please can someone suggest how Xbox support is contacted?!?!?! If this continues I will be forced to go to a consumer watchdog and report this.

P.S, I have had this console for just 10 weeks having switched from Playstation. I have traded my Playstation games to get Xbox store credit to purchase games and have subscribed to Game Pass, I was very much enjoying my new console until this happened. I have not had an Xbox since my Xbox 360 had numerous red rings of death and I vowed never to return until reliability was improved. So as you can imagine this has made me feel hugely disappointed, especially the lack of customer service!!!

    :)

Ah, I see. You didn’t mention that the steps are applicable to both Xbox One and Series consoles. In your original answer.

I have tried your method for the factory reset, unfortunately it didn’t work so with luck an MS technician can resolve the issue or I can just swap the console over for a new one!

    Thanks for your answer!

The steps works for Xbox one and Xbox series S, i did read the question, probably you didn't read the the full steps, as they mention that digital edition don't have the Eject button so it's done only with the bind and power button

I'm glad that you managed to request a service, that will solve all the problems for your console, have a great day!

    Hi Ricardo,

I have tried all the steps in the troubleshooting guide via Xbox support.

Unfortunately your method won’t work as my console is an Xbox Series S, not an Xbox One S hence there is no eject button as the console is digital only. You clearly have not read my question fully before answering.

I have now booked a visit to the Microsoft store in regent st, and will take my console in to have a technician look at it.

Hi JonStevens5! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

First, power down your console fully and remove the power and network cables for at least 30 seconds. Plug the power cable back in and follow these steps:

Step 1: Hold down the Eject and Bind buttons on your console.

The Eject button is on the front of the original Xbox One console right next to the disk drive, while the Bind button is on the left side, directly adjacent to the disk drive, with a symbol that looks like “)))” on it. Note that on the Xbox One X and Xbox One S, both buttons are on the front of the console, with the Bind button sitting directly beneath the Xbox button on the right edge. The Xbox One S Digital doesn’t have an Eject button, so the Bind and Xbox buttons will do the trick. Once you are holding both buttons, press the Xbox (power) button on the front of the console.

Step 2: Release the Xbox button, but continue holding the Eject and Bind buttons for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two tones before releasing these buttons. The Xbox Startup Troubleshooter will appear shortly after.

Step 3: Select Reset This Xbox from the settings and proceed with the factory reset.

    ****If this doesn't work

Follow these steps to request the service:

Sign in to the Device service and repair page with your Microsoft account credentials.

    https://support.microsoft.com/devices

****If your device doesn't appear, add it

Select the device that you want repaired.

Follow the onscreen steps to complete your service order request.
