Xbox Series S - No 1440p option available with BENQ screen

Hello,

I have my xbox S series connected to a BENQ monitor (PD2500Q).

This monitor supports 2K 60hz display but only has an HDMI 1.4 input.

In the settings menu, I can only choose between 720p or 1080p but there is no option for 1440p.

Is this a known problem and is there a solution to fix it? (Maybe use a HDMi to DisplayPort converter?)

Your monitor may not support 1440p because it's 2K instead of 4K

I finally got it to work!

For other BenQ users, this might be helpful.

In the Xbox settings, I went to TV & Display option -> Video Fidelity and changed the connection settings from Auto-Detect to HDMI.

The 1440p was available afterwards.

I hope this will help others.

Regarding your issue, you will need to actually check on the monitor if it is compatible with the Xbox series S or not.

The maximum supported resolution of Series S will be 1440P. Series X just like the Xbox One X before it will support 1440P too.

It will work on your monitor, don't worry.

I have a Koorui 27'' incurved Gaming monitor that does 1440p and 144hz 1ms AMD Freesync, DCI-P3 85% hdmi 2.0

The Xbox Series S will not support games at 4K at 144fps, the Series S will also not run 1440p at 144fps as well. The Xbox Series S will only run 1440p at 120fps. I would also suggest using a different HDMI cable than what came with the Series S. The Xbox Series X will run 1440p at 144fps, also 4k. But limiting 8k to 60FPS.
