Xbox Series S Keeps Needing to be reset

This happens quite often on the regular where I'll try running a game or app and regardless of what game or app it is I'll get an error saying it “took too long to start app/game." whenever this happens I then I have to reset my console (hold the power button down for 10 seconds) and it works again. The problem is I consistently have to do this almost every time I turn on my Xbox after having it off. Is this just a Series S issue? Don't think I've ever run into this problem with my Xbox One so I'm confused why I'm dealing with this on a new next gen console. Do I have a defective Xbox or is it something I can fix?

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

We can definitely try and get this fixed by resetting your console to factory default keeping your games and apps. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

Also, do you have an external hard drive plugged in?

Once you have tried that, please unplug the external hard drive and do not plug it back in without testing your games.
