Xbox Series S keeps crashing after getting into Fortnite

Recently when ive been booting up Fortnite on my Xbox Series S my game will randomly crash freezing the entire xbox for a few seconds to a minute and then kick me out of the game. It does this usually a couple minutes after getting into the game. It happens almost every time I log in but if it doesn't happen, then it never does during the whole time im playing. (So it either crashes within the first few minutes or doesn't crash at all) Ive only noticed this with Fortnite, though i havent played too many other games recently (Ive used streaming services and YouTube quite a bit though and it never freezes/crashes). Outside of the freezing/crashing the game runs completely smoothly without much lag, or any bugs.

Ive tried a bunch of things to try and fix it including, restarting my xbox, turning my xbox completely off then on, restating Fortnite, resetting my xbox (but keeping my games), and even uninstalling and reinstalling Fortnite.

Please let me know if anybody knows whats happening and if anybody knows what to try next.

You mentioned that this crashing only happens in Fortnite and other gamers are working just fine. And you have already performed the basic troubleshooting steps and still the game is making your Xbox Series S freeze everytime you launch Fortnite.

Kindly reach Epic Games Support: https://www.epicgames.com/help/en-US/ and inform them that you are experiencing issues with their game. Mention to them that your Xbox freezes everytime you launch Fortnite and you did troubleshooting steps too but didn't work.

They should be able to help you out because they are trained to fix any in-game issues.

Hello Sam, I don't know how many games your son has on the console, but try to remove all the games that are in quick resume, then restart the console and see if Fortnite doesn't crash again

We totally understand that you want to play Fortnite on higher FPS and resolution. However. the Xbox Series S does not support 1440p resolution at 120fps for Fortnite. The maximum resolution supported by the Xbox Series S is 1080p at 120fps. However, you can still enjoy playing Fortnite on your Xbox Series S at 1080p and 120fps.
