XBOX SERIES S HDMI PORT

My Xbox Series S which is less than 6 months old has not been connecting to my TV. I have tried replacing the hdmi cable 4 times and gone through like 7 YouTube tutorials but nothing is working. Please help me.

Yes. The HDMI port on the Series S is an output. So you would just plug an HDMI cable from the Series S to your TV.

The HDMI port on your laptop is likely only an HDMI out, so that you can hook it up to an external TV/monitor and output its display to that.

In order to display the Series S's output on your laptop's screen, it would have to have an HDMI in port.

Hi,

Highly, highly unlikely. To support Display Port would require a new motherboard design. In any case, HDMI 2.1 is 48Gb/s whereas DP 1.4 is 32Gb/s. Clearly HDMI 2.1 wins out here. The newer version of Display Port (2.0) is far too overkill for the Series X.

Not to mention that there are lots of monitors and TV's now that support HDMI 2.1.

Sorry to hear that, may I know if you tried power cycling the console?
1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

If yes and the issue persists, can you try performing an offline update for the console (or try bringing up the troubleshooting screen)

And what if I buy a cable will it work

The Xbox Series X will come with a HDMI 2.1 cable,

But whether you use a HDMI 2.1 cable or not, the HDMI port on the TV needs to be HDMI 2.1 to achieve the 120hz refresh rates at 4K.

using a HDMI 2.1 cable on a TV port with HDMI 2.0 will still only limit the Xbox Series X to 60hz refresh rates.
