Xbox Series S gets hot on opposite side.

Series S is a small box. The power display and other heat generating components are on the left. Air is drawn across and vented from the black circle

Yes as with any recent computer most cpus vent heat and If you don't feel heat the fan ain't working properly

Any cpu will run at 60-70degrees

Xbox runs at 55-60 degrees and ps5 runs 60-65 possibly higher with the recent cut backs I personally don't run my ps5 in the summer due to it heats up the whole room

Then you can potentially damage the disc drive as it’s not designed to operate upside down, and you should not have a disc in it if you were to do that. I recommend always standing it upright for most efficient cooling.

Heat is entirly normal.

However unlike others have speculated, the Series S is designed with a giant vent right above the heat sink for a reason, to get the heat out. Depending on what game you’re playing and whst. You’re doing, more heat is generated

yet my pc with air cooling only and running a stress test maxed gpu and cpu runs cool in comparison. cpu maxes out at 62 degrees and the 3080ti hits 68 degrees.

the series s is a little box that does not provide the best of cooling and is also running full tilt running the games best it can, unfortunately showing its age already.

If the PC case is designed well enough, then it is surprising how cool air cooling can keep a system....my system runs miles cooler than my old one despite having less fans and only a CPU fan cooler (versus liquid). It only has a 2060 Super but I used to run that at 95% usage for hours on end and the exhaust air still ran cool, albeit with the fans running at max

The Series S kind of reminds me of the bargain basement PC cases you can get which have almost zero airflow...components just run so much hotter
