Xbox Series S friendly features

I have an Xbox Series S and this is the issue I'm having atm.

I have been an Xbox user since day one so I have a lot of digital games so I have a game drive for my games which is great but the thing that's annoying me lately is when a game has been upscaled to X/S it cannot play off the game drive it has to play off the internal which makes sense but the internal is so small and games are getting so big so why can't it just install the normal xbox one version everyone else can get? Surely there should be an option whether you want it to the X/S version, there's no exclusives so it's not like there isn't different versions anyway.

The xbox one s I have can install and play all games new or old off the game drive so it is possible so it just seems like it's a step back for the xbox series X/S to not have that capability.

Is this a possibility that could happen?

600mbps isn't even close enough to 4.8gbps I donno where your math is at its the limits of the controller and cables vs where the bus is

You have 5 devices ontop of the external usb

That it must pass thru common man you should know this

Nvme.sits on the north bridge which bypasses the limitations by sitting directly on the bus not behind 5 different buses

USB has no direct access to memory cpu or gpu thats a bottleneck this is computers 101

in practice usb 3.0 external drives if good quality can hit 600MBps. just the xbox usb bus is lame.

and the series internal storage at 4.8GBps is not bad but no longer the fastest out there, as i have just updated my pc i have banged in a 7GBps nvme ssd, only 1TB but is the drive i use for notoriously slow loading games like sea of thieves, forza 4 and gta 5. got another on order as they are only 187gbp each.

i was just stating 600MBps as you put 500mbps, big difference.

you have to write the terminology correctly, 500mbps (megabits per second) 500MBps (megabytes per second)

You didn't read the back of the box did you?.You can use the game drive for storage and move it back and forth to play

This is with all digital only consoles

Also should be mentioned that the xbox series s only download the s version of the game which is smaller then the one x.or series x games

Also you can buy the storage card you do know that right ?

I haven't even filled up ny 1tb storage with series x games and I got a lot of games

I have the storage card as backup

You do know that non optimized games or patched games can be on the game drive right?.

You look at the library and it will tell you which is which

Game drives ARE never going to be even close to being fast enough that's why the series s and smart delivery adjust to your storage capacity

You knew this when you bought it that storage will be an issue

But it's not the same with the series x as the series x has texture packs

Fyi the game drive is physically limited to 500mbps due to the limitations of usb

Series s and x games run at 4.8gbps

Virtually all Xbox One games are compatible
