    Hello,

    I am just writing to share a possible fix for when the Series S (maybe X) freezes in game for a second or two. I have owned an Xbox 360, Xbox One Original, Xbox One S, and an Xbox Series S. My Xbox One S had a hardware problem, which in my experience was a complete freeze of the Xbox One S where it would lock up and not respond at all. That is a hardware problem, so I would inquire as to repair methods for that problem. The possible fix I am writing about I don't know if it would work on Xbox One, but it is working so far on Series S. Basically, my Series S was freezing for a few seconds in-game but I could still exit to dashboard. Now, I used to have two External 2 TB harddrives connected to my Series S and I also have a Seagate 1TB expansion card connected as well. I went through all the troubleshooting steps and reset my Series S multiple times and plugged it into the wall. Then, I started having an issue with my Desktop computer (which has an SSD and 2 external harddrives connected to it) and I found that removing the external harddrives from my Desktop computer made it function more efficiently. I then thought my Xbox issue could be an issue with having too many external drives connected, so I removed both external harddrives from the Xbox Series S, and I haven't had freezing and the Series S runs much better now. I can now play all the games more efficiently, and I haven't had a freeze since about 4 days ago before I removed them. I'm writing this in the hopes it helps those who have external harddrives connected and are experiencing the same issues and I hope it helps you. So it may be the external harddrives connected if you are having the same issue. It's just a theory I have and I will check back after 30 days to update all of you. I forget the exact reason why harddrives do that but I think I remember on my Desktop computer I researched and the PC accesses the data on the harddrive or does something with it even if you're not accessing it, so I'd imagine Xbox might do the same.

    I’m having similar issues with my series s. Mine is only 3 months old. No purple blotches with mine, just blocky graphics and jumpy with screen freezing for a half second or so during busy action gameplay.

    Hi,

    Online gaming on a console and a PC can have two types of latency:

    Lag is when we are referring to internet connection/server latency. Owning the latest Xbox Series X|S won't fix this, if that's where the problem is.

    Framerate and framerate drops are console hardware game specific. If the game is designed to run at 60fps, but there is a lot of things going on on screen this will result in dropped frames and can be seen during play as a stutter/judder, screen tearing and reduced controller responsiveness.

    The Series X (and even the Series S) have much more capable hardware and generally won't drop frames in heavy area's like the now quite old Xbox One S does.

    According to DICE, Battlefield 2042 supports crossplay between two different sets of platforms. Players on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS5 and PC make up one group, while the second group is composed of Xbox One and PS4 players. Players in the first group can play with anyone else in the first group, but not the second group. The reverse holds true for anyone in the second group, as they are free to play with anyone else in the second group but not in the first group.

    if you have series x/s then you need to add the other player within game as you will need to be friends on origin, so you need to know his origin tag to add him within game.

    if you are on xbox one or ps4 then your out of luck.
