Xbox Series S Fortnite login issues

Just bought our son a Series S for his birthday. He primarily wants to play Fortnite on it but on trying to log in using his existing microsoft account but the following error comes up.

An unexpected error occured while signing in to your account for xbox live. Please try again later.

Weve tried disconnecting the internet connection and reconnecting and off and on again but no joy.

I have the same issue to now and it’s effecting Fortnite. This seems to be an ongoing issue with Xbox and constant bugs and issues. First my Fortnite game won’t boot up and I’m using the series s. Second the quick resume is possibly the dumbest thing to have been added, my Xbox one is better than the series s because of that. Anytime I play an online game and open it, dosent resume it just glitches my game out and when I remove it from quick resume anytime I open the game it adds it back. Xbox can do better. It’s a constant issue and not only Fortnite saying failed login. Please fix it, I got the series s over the ps5 because of my love for the console but at this rate I will have to go to the PlayStation to play games without issues. Please assist as other users are having this issue.

I'm having the same issue. Ever since the update for OG Fortnite. It's sad cause I really want to play the new season 😔 my kids and I usually play together.

I have the xbox series S console. My screen says "login failed" every time i try to login to Fortnite.

Please let me know if you find a solution. Tempted to buy another Xbox at this point.... 😡

Thanks. We have Xbox live but not gold. Have tried holding power button for ten seconds but no luck.
