  1. Xbox Series S controller won't connect to Windows 10 with Bluetooth

I have two Xbox Series X|S controllers. One of which won't connect with Bluetooth to a Windows 10 PC, the other will.

The white controller that came with my, launch day, Xbox Series will not connect over bluetooth, but the second blue one will. The controller that won't connect with bluetooth to a Windows 10 PC works without issue on the Xbox Series S (it was the controller used for the initial setup). It also works on Windows 10 system when connected with a USB C cable.

I have tried 3 different hardware bluetooth radios and two different Windows 10 systems, always getting the same behaviour: the blue controller will be found and pairs and is usable, the white one is never seen by the bluetooth stack.

    Windows 10 details:

    Edition Windows 10 Home

    Version 20H2

    Installed on ‎03/‎08/‎2020

    OS build 19042.746

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

Using the Xbox Accessories app with the each controller connected via USB shows they appear to have identical configuration and firmware versions.:

5.5.2641.0 and showing no update available.

Is there a way to hard reset the controller that won't connect via bluetooth ?

Is there something else I can try to debug this issue.

    Darren

    :)

Xbox one S serie controller and xbox one V3 wireless PC dongle

    Hi,

The Series S and X controllers work on same devices the earlier controller can connect to. This includes:

Xbox One Game receiver for Windows 10

    Bluetooth (PC, Android, iOS)

Xbox One, One S, X and Series X/S.

Will PS3 Bluetooth Headset work with Xbox One?

The Xbox One console doesn't support Bluetooth. That headset won't work with the Xbox One in any way.

The new Xbox One controllers (the ones that come with the Xbox One S) have Bluetooth, but that's only used to connect the controller to a Windows 10 PC through Bluetooth.

Can I use a Blue Tooth Adapter instead of a Xbox Adapter?

Are you talking about connecting controllers to the PC?

With a USB bluetooth adapter, you can connect one Xbox One S controller to the computer. Bluetooth connectivity requires your computer to be running Windows 10 (with the Anniversary update).

You can read more about bluetooth connectivity

Does the Xbox One S console have Bluetooth Capability? I.E Bluetooth Headsets

There is no Bluetooth radio component in the Xbox One S console itself.

The controllers connect to the Xbox One S the same way the controllers connect to the original Xbox One: proprietary RF. You could technically connect an Xbox One S controller to an original Xbox One, and an original Xbox controller to the Xbox One S.

The Bluetooth functionality in the new Xbox One S controller is specifically made for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC with the "Anniversary" update, which has the drivers needed for the controller when connected via Bluetooth.

Adapter Xbox 360 for PC and new controller.

    Hi,

    I’m Killing Skids

The Answer Is Yes as Long As it has Bluetooth or wireless connection
    Hi,

That's not quite right. Apologies for quoting you.

The Xbox 360 controller uses a proprietary wireless technology, it's not Bluetooth and the old adaptors won't work with a modern controller like the Xbox One or Series X|S controllers.

Unlike Xbox 360 wireless controllers, Xbox One and Series controllers can also be connected via USB cable. Old Xbox One controllers use Micro USB, Series Controllers are USB C.

To use an Xbox One/ Series controller via wireless on a PC and get basic functionality, all you need to do is connect the controller via Bluetooth. If your PC doesn't have Bluetooth then you'll need to buy a Bluetooth USB dongle, they're very cheap, less than $10. I'm from the UK and I connect my Series X controller to my PC via BT dongle I purchased from Amazon for about £5.

For extra wireless features you'll need the Xbox One Wireless Adaptor for Windows 10. Unfortunately, the official Microsoft branded adaptors are now quite rare.
