Xbox Series S connected to internet but wont connect to any game servers

Thank you for your assistance. I contacted my ISP to see if any settings had changed, but from what I've learned they didn't see any issues. I will attempt to use the xbox elsewhere to see if issues continue to occur, and if so I'll just have to return the xbox and see if I can get a replacement sometime this week. Again thank you for the help you were able to provide!

I appreciate your effort. It's possible that it could be your account that has the issue. I suggest that you instead create a new Microsoft/Xbox profile for us to test it with a different account.

If it does the same thing, our best option is configure your router by using port forwarding. This is to allow Xbox Live services to work correctly on your network. Unfortunately the steps for online safety did nothing in my case. In the meantime I did try a few other things:

I first changed out the ethernet cable to see if that was potentially an issue, but it wasn't that. I changed the connection from wired to wireless on multiple different networks provided from my router, as well as using my phone's mobile hotspot to see if it had to do with my home network configuration, unfortunately none of these options had any changes. I'm still able to "connect to games 'servers'" in the sense that I'm able to attempt to connect to any online games servers (i.e. I can load the Halo menu fine and can go into the multiplayer menu, and attempt connecting to a match, sometimes I see other usernames pop up in the list, but I'm always kicked from the instance before I can actually connect to a game).

I'm still very confused to why this is happening, and from what I can tell, it's not my network configuration, as none of the other hardware I have connected has any remotely similar issues. I'm just not sure what to do at this point. Could it be my account itself perhaps?

Hi Ukiryah! This is not the situation I want you to be in. I would feel the same way if I were on your situation. Let's do our best to sort this out.

I believe that the issue isn't on your console because you already performed a factory reset and the issue relates to online activity only. It must be caused by your network configuration or account privacy options.

First, check your privacy settings and allow those options that relate to online gaming.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy.
Select the Child, Teen or Adult default settings, or customise your settings by selecting View details & customise.

To further isolate the issue, you could try to connect to a different network - you could switch from wireless to wired or vice versa, or you could use your mobile data hotspot.

Adding a new account and attempting to play any games didn't seem to do anything, so I went ahead and added the ports to my port forwarding list in my router's settings but that also seems to have done nothing. I think the last thing I will have to do is contact my ISP when they are available to ask if for some reason they've blocked the ports on their end, as there's nothing I can tell that would be the reason for my console not connecting to any servers. I went ahead and tried using my old PS4 to see if Destiny (one of the titles I'm trying to play) would connect to their servers, and it seems to work just fine, so I'm not sure what the deal is. I don't see why my ISP would block anything, and in the network settings it says all services are available, so I'm just stumped to the issue at hand. If this is as far as we're able to go then it's entirely possible I will have to return the device for a new one if I'm able to do so.
