  1. Xbox Series S Backwards Compatibility with Disc Games

I'm looking into the new series x and s. I really don't need the extra features (or like the shape) of the x and would prefer the s, but lack of disc capability makes me nervous. I know digital games I've downloaded will carry over no problem, but is there
any way at all to get my old disc (one/360) games on it? Or am I going to have to buy all these games again but in digital versions?

    :)

Planning to buy the Xbox X - But I have a 3 questions

Gold is required to play online on the Xbox. So even if it's a free-to-play game, you still need Gold to play online.

As far as the games you have on Disc, you would not get the remastered ones for free, but if they are backwards compatible you can use the discs to play on the Series X (https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/backward-compatibility?xr=shellnav)
The Series S will not have a disc drive so backwards compatible discs will not work and the games would have to be purchased digitally.

    F. E. A. R and F. E. A. R files

Those two games are listed as only being backwards compatible in disc format so they would be unplayable on a Series S since it has no disc drive.

    XBOX 360 games on X|S

A Series S doesn't have a disc drive, so it won't read any discs.

That game is not backwards compatible so it won't work on a newer console.

I have an Xbox one S, and have got Jedi Survivor series X game.

Athe Series S is backwards compatible, in that Xbox Series S and can play Xbox One games

"Series" doesn't not mean the letter Yes I know it's a confusing name. It is the current generation of Xbox like "one" was the last one

The game will not work on your console, and for the disc you'd need a Series X

    xbox one sereis s

Fyi the xbox series s/x has no one in it

This is to reduce the confusion between series s/x and one when it comes to.compatibility

Only the xbox one s all digital is the only xbox one that isn't compatible with discs

However there is no limitation as far as xbox one other then the digital only console as far as xbox one games goes

Vs the series x /s they are backward with xbox one and with the series s limitation as far as discs goes
