Xbox series S audio desync/no audio on recordings

Does anyone know how to stop the audio desync issues or if there’s a fix? I recently upgraded from Xbox one but I’m really struggling to address this issue. Each clip has about a 3 second delay, if it records audio at all which is only about half the time. So far the games I’ve tried are mass effect remastered trilogy and elden ring. The steps I have taken are: factory reset but keep games, factory reset complete wipe then reinstall games, hard reset and normal resets, change audio to stereo uncompressed, and change the video type from the 1 min 1080p down to the 720 3 min version but no dice. Sometimes when I leave it set to stereo uncompressed it works after many many hard resets but there’s no other steps I’m taking I’m not sure why the audio suddenly works on recordings or why it stops. Any help is greatly appreciated if anyone has ran into this and fixed it please let me know. I have tried downloading a 360 game that is not optimized and recording a video and then going back to my optimized for x/s game but the audio desync/no audio issue persists.

    :)

I'm sorry there isn't a real fix for it so far :(

Hello, NateJ14. Thanks for reaching out! My name is Lucas, and I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.

Some users reported this same issue here on the Community and what worked for some of them was to delete all videos and do a power reset on the console:

Open the Upload App > My Captures > Manage > Select All Videos > Choose Delete.

    After that:

    Power Reset:

    1. If you have an external HD, please unplug it and let it unplugged for testing purposes.

    2. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

    3. Unplug all the cables (power, HDMI, etc..) and wait 5 minutes.

    4. After 5 minutes, plug all the cables in again (except for the external HD) and then turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console.

If this doesn't work, unfortunately there's no real fix for it yet. You can see on the community some users having this issue and there's no fix for all:

No dice but thanks for the quick response, I’m just gonna return it and go back to my old Xbox until this gets fixed. For a console with a quick record button on the controller you’d think this would have been straightened out. I also tried as an additional to your advice going back to the other audio options but there’s never sound in videos with those in recorded videos. I could only get the sound to appear in clips with significant delay on stereo uncompressed, audio was muted for all other options. To anyone that sees this post later on good luck!

I understand your frustration, but there's no fix for all for this issue.

You can contact Xbox Support for help but probably they will ask you to try the steps you already tried, I'm afraid:

Equipments for the recording such as Gaming, etc

If you're having trouble hearing your voice in recorded game footage, it's likely that you need to use an external microphone to capture your audio. The Xbox Series S controller has a built-in microphone, but it may not be sensitive enough to pick up your voice clearly during gameplay.

To record your voice, you can use a headset with a built-in microphone or a standalone microphone. A popular choice for gaming content creators is the Blue Yeti microphone, which offers high-quality audio recording and a variety of settings for different recording scenarios.

Once you have a microphone set up, you can adjust the audio settings in the Xbox Series S settings menu to ensure that your voice is being recorded. Make sure that the "Capture party audio" and "Capture microphone audio" settings are both turned on.

If you're still having trouble hearing your voice in recorded game footage after trying these steps, it's possible that there may be a technical issue with your console or recording software. In that case, you may want to reach out to Xbox or the software provider for further assistance.
