    Xbox Series Controller stops working after 20 seconds after plugging into the USB port in...


    My white Series S controller stops responding after plugging a Type C cable into it, using one of the USB ports on the console. The white Xbox logo still glows but nothing happens when I use it after the first 20 seconds.

    The USB cable is working fine and when trying to plug that cable into my other blue Xbox Series controller, it works as intended. I am not sure why that controller doesn't work.

    The keyboard itself plugs into my controller and the usb, I have plugged into the usb port on the front of my xbox series x. When using the keyboard, the keyboard works but the mic stops working.

    Kind of found a "solution". I have to unplug the USB cable from whichever usb port it is connected to and plug it into another whenever I want to use the controller. So, for instance, I am using USB-port A and then I stop using the controller. The next time I have to switch it to USB-port B. The time after that I can switch it BACK to port A and so on. I am unsure what is causing this issue as my PS5 controller works consistently no matter where it is plugged in and my Arctis 7+ charges just fine in any USB port.

    This might not be a solution but more of a work around.

    Internet Expert it was the positioning of the USB port and the Audio port. I plugged the controller into the back USB port and the whine stopped while the controller works fine. Thanks!

    the wireless sync does not work. The controller works for about 20 seconds after hooking it up via usb, but then shortly disconnects and stops working for the xbox. When I unplug it from the USB, it does not remember connecting to the console. I have tried

    Unplug the drive from the cable. Unplug the cable from the console.



    Power on the console. Wait for it to boot.



    Plug the cable into one of the rear USB ports on the console. Wait 15-20 seconds.



    Plug the drive into the cable. Wait 15-20 seconds.



    If you have the latest cable (the one with both old and new HDD connectors) and the latest console (Trinity), this should work.



    My experience has been that the older cable, the one with just the original HDD connector, works fine on Trinity consoles on both the front and rear ports. The newer cable seems to only work well from the rear USB ports, and only when the HDD is attached
    AFTER the cable is powered.
