Xbox Series controller shuts off while using Prime Video App using a Headset.

So, every 15 minutes my controller shuts down while watching a movie or a show on Prime Video while using a headset and this is the only streaming application that has this problem. I first though about asking Amazon about this (it's their app after all) but the support team told me that this is a Microsoft problem, and when I asked Xbox Support they told me it's an Amazon problem... so I'm completely lost now.

I tested HBO Max, Disney+ and Netflix, and they all keep the controller on while watching something. Did anybody had this problem and was able to fix it? I tried reinstalling the app but this problem is still there. I know it's dumb, but it's getting kind of annoying to move the joystick every 10 minutes...

I'm sorry to hear that. I've encountered the same to be honest and I don't think it has something to do with our controller or a setting on our Xbox console as it's happening to just that app.

People keep responding that this is a normal function and that is incorrect. Under normal circumstances the controller will shut off to save battery life. The problem people are experiencing is with a headset plugged in.

Up until recently this has not been an issue and the headset seemed to keep the controller on. Seemingly after a recent update this has changed but apparently only in the Prime app.

This is extremely annoying and has been enough to cause me to not even use the prime app so I dont have to deal with it.

***plugging the controller in is not an option as it defeats the purpose of using a headset from across the room

I have the same problem now to.. The controller stays on while watching Netflix with a headset plugged in but now when using Prime Video the controller turns off every 15 mins unless you have the controller plugged in with cable ...hope they fix this soon...

I have the same issue. It's okay when watching NETFLIX with a headset connected but Amazon Prime Video turns off the controller. It's very irritating.

Connecting a USB cable is unacceptable. The controller is supposed to be wireless. I'm not using a blooming charging cable because then the controller won't be wireless. Not sure if it makes a difference but I'm using rechargable batteries and the headset
adaptor and Xbox One X

I might say it should be the headset that's causing the controller to switch/ turn off.

Might want to check if its also fully charged?
