Xbox Series 2 Elite controller - rear paddles none work. Brand new

Sorry to hear about your elite controller issues. Let's see if we can get you up and running.

Are you playing on console or on PC? Either way I would recommend launching the Xbox Accessories app to help troubleshoot further.

Once you open the app (Which you may have to download if you are on Windows, link here), you can enter test mode by selecting the icon on the bottom right when your elite controller is selected. It looks like a little test tube/science lab icon.

When in test mode, you can click any button and it will appear on screen showing that the input was recognized. This will help eliminate if it is faulty buttons or if the buttons simply are not assigned.

If the buttons are not being recognized, then it sounds like there might have just been a fault in the hardware. I would recommend going through the steps for an additional replacement to be sent out and emphasize that this was one that was just replaced.

If the buttons are recognized, then I would go through the Xbox accessories configure area to assign them to your desired functions. You can find detail steps on how to accomplish that here.

make sure that you not only map the config but assign it to a slot and that you are on that slot as active. I have the new elite series 2 and i map the left stick down to the left rear paddle; works fine.

elite series 2 controllers back paddles won’t work

Each Elite controller series 2 comes with 1 set of paddles. You can order replacement paddles, thumbsticks etc.

Series 1 paddles, thumbsticks is not compatible with series 2.

No way will I do a clean reinstall of Windows 10 lol. I just had this Alienware X17 delivered brand new a month ago. Why are the other user reviews on the Microsoft Store for the Xbox Accessories app pointing that the Series 2 Elite is not working with their PC?

There should be another application to edit a $160 controller to use the paddles other than Xbox Accessories.
