Xbox seems to have been wiped

it is pretty rare, but unfortunately a profile can become corrupt which will look like that it is gone.

Be sure to check if it is just the profile that is 'missing'.

Before trying to redownload the profile, be sure to check the storage section if there is a corrupt profile you will likely need to delete it first (Delete profile only, if option is given) before trying to redownload it. See this link on how to download/delete

Did you try re-downloading your gamertag? If not, please try this. Also, did you check your storage and see if everything was still located on the drive?

Re-download your gamertag/profile and see if that works.

I have had my whole 360 wiped after an update. Everything was gone, all saved games, both profiles, everything. Do you still have your saved games? If not, sorry to say, but it likely means you get to start over with your games like I had to. You will not
loose achievements or anything like that, but I have yet to find a way to get my game saves back after this happened.
