    Xbox security


    Hi, my name is Scott, I am currently studying a Cyber Security Degree at University, currently we are looking at the strengths, weaknesses and threats the big brands have to deal with. I was just wondering what methods are used by Microsoft to keep the Xbox
    marketplace secure in terms of the confidentiality of a customers information and what methods are put in place to stop fraud etc over the service.

    btw i wouldnt suggest the same password for consoles as its been proven that doesn't really help

    remeber anonymous released the sony database and told everyone to try it on paypal and social sites and xbox

    btw if you receive links that look correct make sure you copy and paste rather then clicking it

    (remeber links could be replaced in emails to hide the true address)

    Hello,

    Try to visit this page here. Make sure you have an alternative e-mail, phone number, etc added and that information is valid. If it does not please edit/remove/correct anything that's
    not correct.

    Once you've done so, please follow the steps below exactly as they are written:

    Delete your profile (profile only), clear your cache 3 times in a row, restart your console, and then try to download your profile.

    Delete Profile Safely:



    Go to Settings, and then select System.

    Select Storage.

    Select All Devices.

    Select Gamer Profiles.

    Select the gamertag that you want to delete.

    Select Delete.

    Select Delete Profile Only.



    Clear System Cache, don't forget to do it 3 times!

    Go to Settings, and then select System.

    Select Storage.

    Highlight Hard Drive, and press Y.

    Select Clear Cache, and press Yes (Do this step 3 times in a row).

    Restart Console

    Download Profile:

    Push the middle button on your Xbox 360 controller.

    Select Download Profile.

    Note: If you don't see Download Profile, press the blue "X" button on your Xbox 360 controller to sign out of any profile you're currently signed into.

    See if you're prompted to enter in your security information again.

    I know there isn't SMS login, but there is indeed SMS verification, where they send you a text with a unique ID for that time to verify that the person logging in has that phone in their possession, much like an email verifies that you have the email account
    in your possession.

    I have considered the secure PC, but I really don't want to install the microsoft Essentials or whatever it requires you to have, no biggie, just thought I'd ask.
