    Xbox/Seagate Hardrive Problems


    So over the summer of 2020 I was playing Ark Survival and the game froze, i thought nothing of it and just turned of the xbox. Well bad idea, when I loaded the game back up it closed and gave a weird error message and so basically I had gathered that it got corrupted. So I go to try other games and they are suffering the same problem. Now im still trying to download games because my wifi is super slow, and every day it takes me an hour before I can play any games because my xbox wont show my harddrive, the controller just wont connect, my xbox just randomly shuts all the down, and my games wont open. I dont know if its a hard drive problem or an xbox problem but im angry ive only had it for a year. I would get a new one but if my xbox can be fixed i want to try.

    No longer sticking with Xbox

    You could try using a Seagate external hardrive that should solve your problem!

    2tb of space for around $60 everything would then be saved there instead of on the xbox itself.

    Sorry to hear that, Are you able to test the drive with another console to see if it can be read there?

    If not, what happens when you connect the drive to the PC? (Open the disk management app and check if the drive appears there)

    If the PC recognize it but the consoles not
    Probably something happened to the file system and now is corrupted
    In those cases the best option is format the drive :c

    **just to let you know, the games are attached to your Microsoft account if you purchased them digitally, not to the drive itself

    yep auto updates are off for the system updates.

    I would try having the drive plugged into one of the rear ports, plug it in, then go to settings, power and full shutdown, then wait till fully off, leave drive connected and start the console backup and wait a few minutes see if the games show again.
