Xbox Scuf Controller- Left stick stopped working when pressed down

So I was playing Fortnite for a couple of hours today when I decide to take a break. 3-4 hours go by and I hop on Fortnite again to play the new season, what I come to find is that my left stick which is my edit bind for console is not working. Like I
will press it down to edit something and nothing will happen like I here the click form the controller but no response in game. It has become really annoying and overall makes me mad. I cant edit with my left stick anymore now and im looking to see if anyone
else has expericened this or knows how to fix. Pls and thx

There may be an issue with the controller itself. If it is the SCUF branded controller, their support site is here.

First check to make sure the joystick is still fully working. Through the settings menu of the xbox go to
EASE OF ACCESS. Then under CONTROLLER you are able to "edit button mapping" Hold in the left joystick and it should say

[ L ] -> ?

Be careful and click the joystick in again and it will not reassign it to another button. This is an easy test to make sure your xbox registers your buttons as it should.

If this works then check your in game settings to make sure the button layout didn't return to default.

Press the middle Xbox guide button on your controller. Scroll down to Beacons & Activities. (Press A). When it opens the window move the stick left to Beacons. Select the Beacon you would like to remove (press A). Then you will have to move down and select
REMOVE. (Press A!). Done

xbox will probably never use that feature. and to let you know, xbox controllers are notorious for stick drift on the left stick, especially if you play a lot of games that require that pressed down to run.
