    Xbox scrolls down without input


    Hello everyone. Until recently, my Xbox One worked perfectly. Then about 3 PM yesterday, it stopped functionally properly. As in my controller stopped accepting input.

    For example during a WWE 2K20 match, my character would run as though the left trigger was constantly held down.

    It gets worse on the menus as it will auto-scroll down without any input and won't let me move up.

    I've already cleaned the controller and replaced a loose screw, but the auto-scrolling continued.

    I did a soft factory reset exactly as was recommended, and I noticed certain controller inputs were locked, but this was normal during this situation.

    After the soft factory reset, the auto-scroll remained. This also applies to menus, as when I try to navigate a left to right menu, one touch is registered as 2.

    I've literally tried everything I can think of, and I have no idea why this happened as my controller was perfectly clean, and I've taken exceptional care of it ever since I got my Xbox One roughly 7 years ago.

    Try these steps

    1. Turn on console and hit the xbox button on your controller

    2. Scroll down to sign in and hit the "A" button

    3. Scroll down to where it says download profile

    4. Input the info it asks for that you created on www.xbox.com

    Hopefully that helps you because it sounds to me that you need to download your profiles to your console

    You own a Xbox, right?

    On your home screen, scroll all the way to the right.

    Scroll down until you see "Browse Apps". Select it.

    The apps screen gives a nice overview of what's available. If you can't find the Xbox Accessories App by browsing, you can use the search feature to input its name.

    I tried this also, but in that menu it still tries to scroll down even if it only takes input from the dpad...

    I've noticed something weird today if I hold up from the dpad I can use the joystick to move around with no problem, as soon as I release the dpad it starts scrolling down again.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great despite the issue you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    To fix this, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

    ​​​

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

    If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

    Reset and keep my games & apps.

    Why does this keyboard pop up when I push the left thumb stick on my Xbox controller?

    I believe I found how to fix it, go open steam, hover the mouse button on the top left where it says "steam" until you see the little menu pop up (Might have to click it).

    Go to settings, scroll down until you find "Controller", click that, then from there scroll down until you find "Desktop Layout", click on edit, disable Steam Input, this worked for me.
