Xbox scrolling speed too fast/uncontrollable

So recently while playing BF1 I noticed that my player would look upwards without me moving the right stick. It was fine at first as it wasnt too bad but now it has gotten a lot worse to the point where I am unable to play any games properly.

To click on a game to play I need to press A in rapid succession in order to load it.

When I press the home button it will scroll right down to the bottom and it wont let me move upwards.

Typing things is extremely difficult aswell.

I have tried to clean the controller which led to no effect (putting solvent on the right stick and cleaning it with the q tip)

I have also gotten another controller (used) which has made no difference to the problem, and I find it hard to believe that both controllers are causing the same problem.

Not sure if this is related but recently I have been unable to load Fifa 18 as it just kicks me back to the home screen (the disk is in perfect condition)

Is anyone else having these problems and does anyone have any solutions?

YouTube scrolling extremely slow

I've been hearing about this problem for a long time, and it's been affecting me for a couple of weeks, noticeably at least.. When I go to the subscription menu, the scrolling is very slow and laggy. I'm subscribed to maybe 20 channels. Holding the analog
stick or d-pad won't speed up the scrolling. The scrolling for the videos themselves is as fast as ever and entirely without lag, but the channels themselves scroll at about one per second, and keep scrolling after I have released the analog stick or d-pad. It
is very annoying and makes me want to never use YouTube on Xbox again. Is this a problem with a recent update? Do I need to reinstall YouTube?

 

Slow download times!

Ethernet cable then tried wirelessly same result. Slow. When I download on the xbox one the speeds are fast. It too is connected via an Ethernet cable.

 

try to power cycle and see if it fixes it. otherwise try to factory reset your xbox. if that doesn't help you should contact support at
support.xbox.com

 

You might need to resync your controller. I had the same issue and resyncing worked for me.

 

I had a similar issue before, however, when troubleshooting, I connected my controller to my PC and then linked it back with the console and it worked fine I think you should give it a try.

 

Dont have the cable for it but ill try this when I can.

Tried to power cycle, no changes.

I cant reset the xbox as when I press the home button it automatically goes to the bottom of the menu and wont let me scroll up, i.e. access the settings menu.

If the controller speed is too fast even on the dashboard, then one of the buttons might be pressed. What I mean is, say it is showing the dashboard currently, then the buttons, A is held while moving the thumbstick, then it would move quickly. It could
be that the controller is dirty internally between the buttons or the controller needs to be repaired.
