Xbox screen static/ fuzz/ flicker

The Xbox will turn on normally, and will operate properly (I can use it to play games and everything else) but the screen will go to a blank static/ fuzz. Then return to normal but it repeats this every 5 seconds. This issue is not effected whether or not
Kinect is plugged in. This issue did not start until after the July 2014 update. It happened right after the update I unplugged Kinect and restarted the system with out it and it was fine, I plugged it back in and was fine. The problem did come back until
after the console was restarted, It is now and intermittent problem but when it happens the console unusable due to the screen cutting out every 5 seconds for 1 second. Changing the HDMI cables didn't change this, I use the one included in the box and its
not bent or kinked. The TV doesn't appear to be the issue changing the source and using different cables again change nothing.

So right now Its working fine; Ive had something similar in January (bought the console day 1) but their was not screen output just a black screen. To me it seems like the HDMI out put is the issue. I would just like to know if anyone else has this issue
I just want to know the proper terminology for the issue and if anyone has had to send theirs away.

Screen Flicker

It appears that the issue has resolved itself. I played a game for a bit once again, watched part of a 4K Blu-ray, and there was no screen flickering. I played with some settings, but I think everything ended back up in default, so I’m not sure what happened
to resolve it. All’s well that ends well.

 

Screen Flicker

I purchased an Xbox One X today to go with my new 4K tv. Every thirty to sixty seconds or so the screen flickers very briefly. This issue presented itself with the HDMI cable that the console came with as well as with another high speed HDMI cable I tried.
The flickering occurs on the dashboard and in game. I haven’t yet tried a Blu-ray. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks for your time.

 

Yes I have been having this problem for about a month now, i have the extra year protection I was thinking of taking my unit back it is very annoying. I turn the system on and the screen turns to a white snowy static for one second and back except it happens
faster than every 5 seconds its like every 2 seconds. Turning the system off doesn't change it I have to unplug it. For the first time today I noticed that same High definition type snowy static starting to creep in behind a Netflix movie I was watching
it went away after about 3 minutes. This started to scare me as if the problem was getting worse. The start up problem happens about once a day.

 

This is a serious issue I have been having it also when i turn on my system i have to power off and then it is ok for a few times and then i'll turn it on and it happens again

 

This is a problem I guess everyone is having.... hard reboot fixes it for 2 cycles... The it happens again... Very annoying. Changed HDMI and inputs on TV.

 

Xbox One has been fine since day 1 and with the new uodate I'm also getting the static every few seconds. Have to restart a number of times to find a restart without the issue.

 

Same issue here. Has only been happening recently so the update seems like it was probably what caused it. A hard reset temporarily resolves the problem before eventually coming back. Mostly just a minor inconvenience but it would be nice to see this fixed
soon.

Today I turned on my 360 and it updated, after the update, HDMI output does not work, I've tried different tv, cables, used my PS4 and pc with same cable on my tv and receiver and both work perfectly. it seems to be only the hdmi since the av cables work...
but srsly who uses av this days.

I'm also having this problem. I have to unplug the console every day just to get it not to flicker every 5 seconds. It usually comes back within an hour or so. This is pretty ridiculous.

 

Please do a Hard Reset: Holding Power Button on XB1 for 5seconds.. wait until Power-Supply-Light turns orange. disconnect power for 1 Minute Restart your Console...

I have forwarded it via Chat Support to the Engeneers, they knows the Problem!

It seems to be that they thought it was fixed with the 1407 Update...

Of course we have said it is still there in the defintiv 1407.

Now in the 1408 preview update it has also occurs - this is should also be forwarded to them.



If you have the Feedback App, use this and Report the Problem, after the BS occured. That will Report a Logfile and send it to XB. So they can see the BUG better!

may be it takes longer than the next 2 Roll Outs... (thats my thinking)

Please Keep doing new threads, so that they can see how important this is! and maybe so it will be fixed faster!

Update the Firmware of your Setup XB and TV!! Than please do the following Instructions:

Spoke with the Official Staff about this, they'd like you to try a few things and report back:

This appears to be an isolated HDMI connectivity issue. Please ask the user to try the following:

A)

1. Double check HDMI connections for loose cables.

B)

1. Try a different HDMI cable

C)

1. Try a different input on the display

D)

1. Power off the console 5sec, Power Button

2. Unplug AC power from the back of the console

3. Wait 30+ seconds

4. Plug back in AC power

5. Power on the console

Please let me know here or via PM what you find. And Tell me your Current OS Firmare from XB1 (Settings->System->Console Info)

I am having the same issue. Been in contact with xbox support multiple times and there has not been a permanent fix for this yet. I have tried different HDMI cables, removing the plug from a power bar and plugging it straight into a wall out let (as suggest
by xbox support) but this has not resolved the issue.
