    Xbox screen capture completely bugged


    I have held off making a post here because I know I’ll get the generic responses from the people on here who act like they care, but don’t. Spare me the copy and paste response. You’re wasting both our time.

    Ever since I purchased a One S I have had the following problems with the capture feature... I capture 45 seconds- 2 minutes of gameplay each clip I make:



    -Doesn’t record it at all.

    -Records a clip but it’s 3-8 seconds long.

    -Records a clip but it’s 0 seconds long.

    I have one terabyte of space, and I have tried literally everything that’s been said on these forums, Reddit, and more. Hard resets, and other fixes I can’t think of now have not worked.

    Microsoft needs to get their [mod removed] together. I shouldn’t have to buy a capture card when the console I purchased for way too much money is supposed to have a WORKING feature.

    Do not tell me to lower the quality, or time of my clips. It should WORK as intended.

    Has anyone else experienced this? It’s absolutely infuriating. I’ve missed some absolutely amazing/hilarious clips because of this.

    There is a Forum post here that has a potential fix in the replies.

    As far as the 1TB storage on the console, only a reserved amount is available for captures, not the whole 1TB.

    If the reserved space is full you need to clear some captures from the Internal drive or purchase a External drive, format it to NTFS and set it to the console capture location.

    it isnt using screen capturing but game capture, this means it will only capture the game and nothing else. completely normal.

    I also noticed that quite a few people have faced this bug. Can you ask the developers to add these features to Xbox Screen Capture:

    1. Auto backup to OneDrive

    2. Progress bar for the Transcoding process.

    Bug in Campus Grinder on Gears of War Ultimate Edition

    It definitely looks to be the game triggering an error with the console.

    Tried power cycling and started running a capture to better show the bug if it came up again and doing so froze the Xbox on a black screen once I reached an unrendered area.

    my point was since xbox game bar is capable of screen capture can I just have it capture my screen i.e. just as a screen capture to show for instance where saves and files are or just screen capture on windows explorer to show where to move files...
    etc not just for games
