Xbox screen black - does not like higher resolution

The xbox one screen went black. I followed the process of turning it off (holding the xbox symbol) and unplugging for 5mins. I turned it on and left it for 10mins. Still nothing.

So I did the same process but when I turned it on, I held the xbox symbol and eject button until I heard the second beep. The screen started as normal with a lower resolution.

I then went into settings and changed the resolution higher, but the screen went black again. I put it back on the lowest resolution and the screen came back on again.

    Help!

    :)

Try to restore keeping games and apps, please be sure that you know your account email and password:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

On the Reset your console screen, you'll see three option use this one, be sure you remember the email and password of you're accounts:

Reset and keep my games & apps. Use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps. In some cases, if a corrupt game file is causing the issue you're troubleshooting, you may have to choose Reset and remove everything, but you should always start with Reset and keep my games & apps

What if after factory reseting my xbox 1s, it still displays 480p instead of 1080p or 720p?

Hi William, I'm Luis a Xbox user just like you. Thanks for reaching out us here.

Does your screen go to black if you try to change resolution?

XBOX WONT DISPLAY ON MY TV ANYMORE

Once you hook up to a higher resolution it takes precedes over smaller ones. By picking 1080p you console has saved it in the settings. When your hooking it up to the 720P the Xbox is looking for the 1080p signal but there isn't one thus causing the black
screen. You have to bring it back to 1080p TV and lower the setting to 720p and save it then move to new TV. The Xbox unfortunately does not have a resolution auto-detection installed.
