Xbox scratching discs

Hello everyone i have been experiencing problems with my xbox one console. It seems as if my discs are being scratched on my xbox one. After playing for some time, i see light scratches on my discs, they dont look that bad, but there are still scratches.
Is this normal for my discs to get scratched, please help.

hey so recently my xbox has started scratching my discs its like a two year old xbox and I havent changed its horizontal set up in like a year but jst recently my black ops and bad co 2 discs have gotten scratches on them on the furthest inner ring on the
back. whats the deal? is my xbox just like breaking for no reason all of a sudden or can I fix this? the games always work for a few minutes and then it says they are unreadable. It happened to my black ops first and then to my battlefield tonight and thats
when I realized it wasnt just thr black ops disc being scratched since they both have the same exact type of scratch. HELP please thanks

well 2 things then are you seating the disks in correctly? and is it on a stable surface

well if yes to both then you can ask for a repair

however if you had the xbox for over a year you are no longer covered under the 1 year general warranty

that being said you will have to go thru the troubleshooting first cause if you are no longer under the 1 year warranty you will have to pay 100dollars for ordering the repair online or 120 for agent repair proccess (cheaper and faster for you to do it online)

at the cost of the xbox s models you might as well buy a new console and buy extended service plan

Sorry to hear it. It is not normal for a console to scratch discs. How is your console placed? Is it sitting on it's side or laying flat? Have you accidentally bumped or moved the console while the disc was inside?

Are the discs scratched at all? If so you might have to get a new disc replacement. Usually if you scratch the Xbox circle on your disc it stops working.

Check the disc for scratches along the disc data strip. (Inner ring in disc found just above the strip that reads xbox xbox xbox)

If it's scratched in that area, often a buff with a microfiber cloth will polish it up will suffice.

Is the disc scratched or damaged? This could be a reason for the Xbox not reading a disc.

In addition, do not move the console when it is on and a disc is in the drive, as this will scratch your discs. If after all the above it's still scratching discs, there is likely an issue with the console and you should call Xbox Support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX.

I've had 4 Xbox's and none have scratched any discs. No cases have scratched any of the discs either. It all comes down to how you remove the disc and place the disc in the case.

As far as the Xbox goes, don't place it on end. Lay it flat so the disc will sit securely in the tray.

Disc's can be unbalanced from manufacture. My Skyrim disc is like this, it isn't scratched but it hum's loudly when playing.

Just take extra care when handling the disc. It's all you can do.
