XBox Scorpio as Home Entertainment?

Hi all,

I am currently owning a Samsung KS8000 and looking for a solid media player able to seamlessly play 4k HDR x265 10bit content from an external USB 3 HDD.

Unfortunately, apart from the Nvidia Shield (which seems to have some major flaws as well), no player seems to be capable of doing so.

However, with the "imminent" release of the Scorpio I was wondering what will Microsoft do for Home Entertainment?

If it supports the above mentioned format without any issue, this might be the perfect player for me, especially as it also has superb gaming capabilities

Any available info on this topic yet?

Fortnite unable to play battle royale

I am unable to enter the battle royale on Fortnite as it freezes when trying to load then goes back to the home screen. Xbox one Scorpio. This happened after an update.

Looks like it will run native 4K on scorpio

xbox scorpio will have HDR. It will also have something ps4 pro doesnt have, 4k bluray disc player. However xbox scorpio's main forcus will be gaming. that is why scorpio will have GDDR5 memory not DDR3 memory, something which a lot of people criticized
on with xbox 1.

 

Looking at X1 I would keep expectations low.

I thought I could use X1 for bluray player and media player - but apps have been so buggy and simply shutting console down and things like that. Playing some media at wrong speed is another strange flaw.

And you have no settings which are common on mediaplayers, delay to audio to make lipsync on screen are missing in X1 so far.

So I bought a standalone bluray player to play my videos as well as commercial media like films etc.
