Xbox says wired connection when no Ethernet cable is present.

Xbox says wired connection when no Ethernet cable is plugged into it. When i have an Ethernet cable plugged into it it says that it is not connected but when i unplug that cable it says wired connection. It also assigns it a local IP address, but if I plug
an Ethernet cable into it, all of this goes away and it just says not connected. It doesn't matter if the other end of the Ethernet cable is plugged into a router or not, still does the exact same thing. When it is plugged into the router, no activity lights
are on so it isn't even seeing the router or getting an IP address from it. I have tried multiple routers, multiple Ethernet cords, reset the console and the network settings multiple times, contacted xbox support and no one can help me. Please Help!

Are you using a wired connection? If your Xbox says the ethernet cable is not connected, have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the ethernet cable?

my xbox is not detecting my ethernet cable. everytime i click wired connection it says: for wired connection an ethernet cablbe needs to be pulged in at the console and router or modem. my connnection worked before, now suddenly it stopped working. i tested
the cable on my computer and it works, the xbox is just not detecting it.

That certainly is strange; in this case, try resetting the Xbox One console to factory defaults. If you're still seeing the same issue after that, you'll need to
look into options for an
Xbox One Service Request to have the console replaced/repaired.

 

I tried this already and it didn't work. It is 2 months out of warranty so they basically told me to screw off. Thankfully I bought an extended warranty from walmart. Thanks for your help.
