Xbox says wifi password incorrect but is. Connects fine with wired connection.

Ok so never had a problem with my Xbox One until today. Online when suddenly kicked me off and wouldnt reconnect to live. Reset xbox and router then when xbox back on it asked for wifi password again. Entered it correctly and keeps saying password incorrect.
I know im entering it correctly as i tried it on my laptop and i even changed the password and still nothing. I factory reset my router, change wireless channels did everything i could and still nothing.

However as soon as i plugged it in through a cable it connected to the internet fine and is now working but i need to solve this as i prefer a wireless connection.

I did noticed when i plugged a wired connection in the nat type was moderate and said there was a purchasing problem with live but didnt say this before everything went haywire!

I've scrolled through the forum and found similar problems but nothing that helped me.

So, any advice?

Edit: Forgot to add that when it first kicked me off love i tried reconnecting straight away and it said 'Could not find I.P address which is when i reset router

Xbox Live Failure

My Wifi is fine, but my Xbox One won't connect to Xbox Live. I've restarted it 3 times now! And every time I enter the password, even though it's correct, it says it's incorrect.

 

Stupid Question but advice is appreciated

I've been getting a lot of lag when online gaming. I currently use a wifi connection with my xbox one. I know a wired connection is always the best but have just opted for wifi based on convenience. Today I decided to order a 15ft ethernet cord off amazon. What's the best way to setup my wired connection. Should I go through my router or modem? To be honest I haven't used a wired connection since pre wifi days so can someone tell me what ports to plug into, and if going wired even makes a noticable difference.

Sincerely sorry to hear about the wireless issue! Could you post back what the brand and model number of both your router and modem? Also, can you post back with how many consoles you have in your household?

I'm having the exact same problem. I have a SKY router but it doesn't say what the model name or number is. I was in contact with Microsoft Customer Support but I was hung up on

 

I cleared my alternate MAC address and can now get online, give that a try

 

It kicked me off of Destiny while I was playing the crucible. I was 20-3 and it kicked me off. It then kicked me off of my wifi and couldn't log back on because it kept saying my password was wrong. I ended up just clearing my MAC address and restarting
my xbox. Its all good now.

 

I'm having the same problem. Lost connection to destiny and now I can't connect back on wifi. Works great on hard wire. Every thing else in my house connects to wifi. And I just got my Xbox one. Not starting off good. I have two ps4s and never had this kind
of trouble.

 

Ok so I just cleared the alternate MAC address and now wifi connects. Hopefully intoning else will happen.

 

This issue keeps happening to me as well, playing Destiny (I don't know if the game matters), I get booted off the game with an error message, so I go to the home screen and it says that I'm not connected to my wifi internet. Now this has been going on for
over 10 days. I've tried as many ways of troubleshooting my router and my Xbox One system short of factory reset. I have NO issues with any of my other game consoles including my Xbox 360, nor any of the other devices connected to the network. There are no
conflicting IP addresses between the devices, the Xbox One decides to randomly lose its connection. I noticed as well that when this issue occurs that my Xbox Live status reads as having trouble with 'Purchase and Content Usage'. I don't know why this system
suddenly goes down, but as I've been going through the forums searching for a solution, I noticed that it's an issue pretty commonly occurring recently.

Please Xbox Support Team, help us out. I don't believe this is an issue on the customers side as it's been happening to some any different people with different routers and networks, in different locations, almost in the exact same sequence. I also noticed
that Destiny is a common game to be playing when this issue occurs. It's also all been happening mostly within the last few weeks. I also recently renewed my membership in the beginning of February for another year, prior to this issue occurring. I had a balance,
paid it off, and renewed my membership with a 12-month prepaid card I purchased from CVS. I don't know if any of this information matters as well, but maybe these other folks could have recently renewed a membership using prepaid cards and now are having the
same issue is me.

edit: I also forgot to mention, everything works again everytime that I hard reset or unplug my Xbox One. Some days I play without issue. This 'Purchase and Content Usage' issue happens randomly, and again does not affect my Xbox 360 service whatsoeve.

 

I was having the same issue however once I cleared the Alternate MAC Address, as the others did above, and restarted my Xbox, it connected fine to my wireless network.

 

Thank you to the people who suggested clearing the MAC address as that fixed the problem. I don't know if the game matters either but it only happens to me when Im playing Destiny too.

Go to network setting. Then advanced settings. Click on MAC address. Then click clear.
