Xbox says my Live Gold has expired, but I can't redeem my code

If you have acquired an Xbox Live Gold code, I would check to see what the expiration date says on it. And just make sure to redeem it before the code expires!

I actually remembered another older 12 month XBOX Live subscription that I tried to enter as well. It says, "

Redeeming your Prepaid Xbox Live Gold 12 Month code will automatically convert to 4 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and will be added to your current Xbox Game Pass Ultimate account. By redeeming this code, you agree to this conversion. All conversions
are final; ratio subject to change. See xbox.com/gamepass If you choose not to redeem at this time, you can keep your code and redeem it prior to its expiration date, if any.

So, notice it says you can keep your code and redeem it prior to its expiration date.

But what I want to do is redeem it after my Game Pass ultimate expires. Assuming I will not want to pay for it after Sept 2020. Do I have to just hold on to all my codes and hope they don't expire?

Because I'm having the same problem, and I was trying to do it on the 360, and then tried redeem it on my xbox one and computer and says my code has expired or been used :/

Hi, in my experience, there is no time limit/expiration on codes for Xbox Live Gold and/or Game Pass from the Microsoft Rewards program. I last redeemed such a code over a year ago and as such, I would probably double-check the text in the email that contained
the code just in case there's any newer language in there that would say anything regarding expiration, but unless otherwise indicated there, it should be perfectly fine to save the code and redeem it at a later time. Hope this helps!

Xbox Live trial memberships can only be redeemed if you do not have an existing Xbox Live Gold membership. You can redeem a trial code once your current membership has expired.
