Xbox says I'm connected but I'm not. NAT type Strict - Interesting situation

Alright I'll explain this the best that I can.

I'm dorming at UMass Amherst and the only way to connect your Xbox One to the internet is by connecting to the wireless network on your computer, enable sharing in the network settings, then run an ethernet cable from the computer to the Xbox One.

I was using this method since September and it was working fine. I just got back from break and all of a sudden it isnt working anymore.

What happens is, when my Xbox One starts up the home screen appears, the "Connect to Xbox Live" appears on the side, like usual when not connected. When I click that and it brings me into my network settings, my wired network shows up and the NAT type is
strict and it says all services are available.

However, when I return to the home screen the "Connect to Xbox Live" panel is still there BUT my friends list is "online" By "online" I mean it's saying I have 6 friends on but its actually displaying the friends like from the previous night.

Anyways, since I'm on campus I do not have access to/permission for the router.

Says I'm connected, but I'm really not?

help me! My connection just keeps randomly cutting out. The internet works just fine on my phone and my laptop, but doesn't work on my Xbox. Wireless or wired it says service info not available and Nat type unknown. But when I go to test network connection
or multiplayer connection it says you're all good. If I go to detailed network or test nat type it says I'm offline. Is there something I can do to fix it or do I have to take it up with my internet provider?

 

"Network isnt setup"

On my Xbox one it says i got a double nat message and if i test my network connection it says im connected but if i test my multiplayer connection or nat type it says my "network isnt setup"

P.s

My friend has an open nat and i have a strict and i still cant join him on any game i thought strict nats could join an open nat type

Also, I've tried logging out and logging back in and I just deleted my account and I'm not able to redownload it for some reason.

I checked my connection and it say "Your network is good"

 

that has come up before on here (college internet) and I believe they had the network admin put the mac address of the xbox on the "white list" allowing it to connect ....you can also try and "trick" it by connecting your computer , then getting the mac
address of your computer and enter that on the xbox so the wi fi "thinks" your xbox is your pc , same method to hook up to hotel wi fi I believe...

and just as a test , try and make a "hot spot" on your phone to see if it will connect...

 

Okay, so we have 2 networks eduroam, which is the main student, and UMass, which you log into (guests can use it to) and Im still having problems with eduroam but it's working if I log into the UMass network so I'll called this half fixed. It works so that's
all that matters. Thanks for the response though and I'll try it out later when I mess around with eduroam again!

 

I am having the EXACT SAME issue, however I am at home. no "college" internet. this is my private 100mbps internet with no issues as my computer/phone/whatever you want to connect to it works. Except Xbox one...
