Xbox Says I Need to Renew Game Pass Subscription Even Though I Have a Minecraft Disc

I have an Xbox and a Minecraft disc. When I try to play the game it says this: “Looks like you need to renew Xbox Game Pass

If your subscription is current, try quitting and relaunching the game. If you tried to launch this from a disc, check the disc- it might be dirty or damaged. (0x803f800e)”

I have Xbox Live Gold but not a Game Pass - that isn’t the issue. If I try to play Fifa 20 it works fine. I also have a disc for Fifa. I’ve also checked the dsc and cleaned it multiple times. I have tried to use another account and I uninstalled and
reinstalled it twice. (Oddly enough after uninstalling the first time it worked right after I reinstalled it but after that it refused to work again until the second time I reinstalled. The same thing happened the second time.)

Oh and if this helps before I reinstalled Minecraft the first time, I had a different issue. It was telling me to insert the disc even though it was clearly in the Xbox. This issue has since been resolved and now I have this one. I on’t know if this will
help anyone find a solution but I thought I’d include itjust to be sure.

This brings me to the conclusion that there is something wrong with my disc even though it looks to be in quality condition. I know that it doesn’t have anything to do with the Xbox disc reader itself because it seems to read the Fifa disc fine.

Any suggestions?

Try and uninstall the game then put your disc in to reinstall the game!

If this dosnt work try contact support!

Having the same exact issue but with Oblivion. Bought it last night and says I need to "renew my game pass subscription" even though I don't have game pass and I digitally purchased the game.

Okay, I have a very similar problem. I bought Minecraft a while ago. I did NOT get it with the Xbox Game Pass. I get on my Xbox One and try to play Minecraft and it says, "Looks like you need to renew Xbox Game Pass. If your subscription is current, try

I did that with Minecraft. If you try to launch it without the disc, it will say yoou need to renew Gamepass. Or If you tried to boot the game on disc and it asks you to renew Gamepass, then check the disc and try again.

When I go to subscriptions it says game pass and live gold are active and the next charge is next month.
