Xbox saving progress

Hello, so my internet didn't work for some time and i played a game. Then the next day it asked me if i want to continue playing with saving on my xbox or with saving on the cloud. I accidentally choose the wrong saving location. Is there any way i can change it to cloud saving?

And, mate, since your console is the One X, xbox one games automatically backup to the cloud storage when you are playing online (console connected to the internet) you do not need to select it as an option.

Which model is your Xbox?

If your console is the Xbox 360, yes, it's possible to change it to cloud saving.

1. To set up cloud storage on your Xbox, go to the “settings” tab on the Xbox dashboard and then select “system.”

2. In “system,” find the “storage” tab. This will give you a list of connected storage devices with “cloud saved games” as the final option.

2. In “cloud saved games” you can select “enable cloud saved games.” This will reserve a local cache on your console and allow you to move saved games to the cloud. You’ll also be able to access your Xbox 360 cloud saves from your Xbox One or Series console.

If you have games saved already into your Xbox and want to move them to the cloud:

1. Open the dashboard, then select “settings,” then “system” and finally “storage.”

2. In the storage device that currently holds your save, click on “games” and then find the game you want to move over.

3. After selecting the game, click “move” or “copy” and then select “cloud saved games.” You can also delete the game file from here.

I have the xbox one and just bought this game. Same issues for me; "no saved data". I did this twice now. So what I did was uninstalled and re installed the game and there was my data. So last night I completely 100% let the game install and tried again.
Saved and exit; I'll know later today after work if it worked this time. Has anyone since this post had success in saving your game data?
