    Xbox S series Shutdowns/Freezes


    Ive had my new xbox series S for about 2 weeks. I only have Call of Duty cold war. Multiple times each day that i play the xbox will freeze then shutoff or just crash call of duty. I have had the 70$ version the entire time and have the xbox well ventilated
    in a cold room. I see so many posts about this online with no real answers. MICROSOFT or COD, you owe us some explination. Many us bought your product and its failing. Ill be returning this product and telling everyone i can through social media and word of
    mouth how poorly this situation has been handled by both companies if no resolution can be found in the coming weeks. HOPE you hear these pleas microsoft

    That's what I am done,put my series s on energy saving and then select full shutdown after that I hear noises on the left side of series s and it won't stop noising unless I unplug it

    I changed it to never turn off , but I’m playing games when it freezes . I’m not just letting it idle or turn off after media. The console seems to freeze after 5-6 hours of playing , then shuts down and I have to manually turn they system again again. When the console shutdowns the controller stays on.

    It’s only happened twice since owning the console, and factory reset doesn’t fix it, just curious as to if this is still a known issue

    Are you facing this freezing and shut down issue only when you are playing one specific game or does it happen with all of the games? If this happens only with Sea of thieves game, then I'd recommend re-installing the game and preform a Soft Reset to your console (Keep games and apps) following the steps listed below. However, if the issue appears with all of the games, then I would advice you to check for any system update on your console as it will help refresh the system and get rid of the issue. Please check About system updates on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One | Xbox Support article regarding this matter.

    If the issue persists after all the troubleshooting steps previously provided, then unfortunately our last option would be to set up a repair order for the Xbox Series X console. You can register and view your options by going through the Device Support site to set up this repair order.

    These steps you need to follow to preform a Soft Reset:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select All Settings.
    4. Select System.
    5. Select Console info & updates.
    6. Select Reset console. [KEEP MY GAMES AND APPS]
    Make sure you have both your email and password on hand as you will be asked to sign back in. There is an option to delete everything and to save your games and apps; choose the latter.
