Xbox S controller vibrates twice shuts off

What is up with that?

I got a used controller. I put in a new battery and charging it via USB. It comes on, blinks quickly on and off, then vibrates twice, then shuts off. What does this mean?

Granted it it's a slow charging USB I believe, I had it on there at least 10 minutes, but unplugged it and the thing immediately goes dead.

Looks like I'm going to have to leave it on there all night and see what happens.

Are you trying to charge the batteries in your controller using the USB connector?
I ask this because if I recall correctly, that's not possible.
You need to use a battery charger.

But I found strange that even with new batteries the controller doesn't turn on...
So, right now only with a USB connection you're able to use the controller. Correct?

controller Vibration mode NEDDS to have an option to SHUT OFF!!!

Possible reasons:

1. Your batteries are being detected as very low. The Xbox controller shuts off vibration the battery is very low. Try different batteries?

2. You have vibration turned off in the game options.

3. Your controller may be broken.
