    Xbox S boot time increase after Creators Update


    Hello,

    I have a friend who has an Xbox 1S with a 500gb HD and a 100 GB internet connection. Since the spring update his boot time has gone from 5 seconds to 20 seconds and it seems like his games are taking longer to load, specifically Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and
    Punishment. Has anyone else seen this problem and if so have the seen a fix for this issue? Nothing changed on his router since the update, it just takes longer to start and load games.

    Any ideas?

    Xbox one takes long to boot up.

    One more question actually. Does having an external hard drive attached increase boot time length?

    The Xbox One self-updates when set to the "instant-on" power mode. If this mode is set to "power saver" then you will get update prompts when you boot up the console and the boot up time is increased to about 1 minute.

    Have you tried a factory reset and try doing an offline system update ? To me it seems you corrupted the os on the xbox installed to the internal drive. If you interrupted the update. So i suggest doing a fresh system update while offline after a factory reset. Apart from that any change in the boot animation aka the boot logo when you first boot up the xbox. The time it takes to get to the dashboard before and after this happened. That happened to my xbox series s regardless of being in standby and powersaving.

    What are you blabbering on about?

    Increasing boot time means the boot time is longer.

    Decreasing boot time means the boot time is shorter.

    An SSD will make boot time shorter, hence it decreases boot time.

    Increasing boot time is a bad thing. An SSD will decrease the boot time. I think you're a bit confused.

    Where did the Creators Collection go since the Xbox Store update?

    After an update I'm having the same issue now.

    It's strange when searching for a creators collection game in the windows store it now shows such games are compatible with Xbox Series X/S (which would suggest work has been done to continue the creators collection to the next generation), but the entire section
    is missing from the new store.

    Also I noticed the new Xbox app for pc doesn't even show creators collection games when manually searching by name either, even though such games should be installable through the app.

    Hopefully this gets resolved soon, I would have been releasing a game this week (which has been in development for quite some time) if it wasn't for this issue.
