    Xbox running slow


    My girlfriends xbox, which is the xbox I've mainly been using for the past couple months, has started running slow. It just started acting like this. It takes longer to load the dashboard, games, and my xbox live account. I've tried clearing the cache,
    redownloading things, doing test and what not. It's not the internet connection because she just got a brand new router. Call of duty ghost is not working at all. I tried deleting the update and am trying to download it again. It won't get more than about
    2%, estimation. It was working perfectly fine a couple days ago but if the xbox is doing anything with the internet it won't work properly. I ran internet tests to make sure and the tests gave me results that were far better than what xbox tells you you need.
    I've had an xbox for at least 7 years now so I'm used to the usual problems, but I've never seen this happen before and don't know what to do.

    xbox running slow

    My xbox is running slow and won't load some games and other games is very slow to load. it is very slow during start up. is there anyway to fix this problem?

    Hello there @ElliotHollis, I hope everything is going well!

    Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support!

    I would like you to go through the following steps to clear the Mac address and then perform a quick power cycle on your console:

    Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

    After going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console.

    In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox:

    Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

    Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

    this didn’t work so i’m not sure what to do other than completely reset my xbox. but i’m not sure if it will work or be a complete waste of time.

    Just wait untill Kinect 2.0 arrives mate, not only will they troll you, they will know exactly what your doing every second of the day, eating habbits, toilet habbits and if your into chicken sacrifices I suggest you do it elsewhere it future.

    I'm prepared though, I've actually got 34 rolls of tin foil already, will more to come before launch so I'll be totally safe ;-p
