Xbox Rewards- MS moves the goal posts again.

I'm not sure why some remain unchanged and some are reset but there clearly is a problem and I'm sure I'm losing out on $ while this is happening. I don't even trust them to restore it to what it was properly.

 

This isn't a huge deal to me because I could never get past the first star, haha. I would always complain about it in the survey because my rebate was a lot better based off my Gamerscore. My progress has been reset to 0 as well, oh well.

 

I was also getting a better rebate based on gamerscore but when it changed I atleast skipped the first star. I had been buying digital to increase my rebate to take the sting off the extra it costs compared to disc. Not happy.

 

Even though I was only 1 star the rebate was still nice. It was an extra € here and there and god knows I've been 1 euro short so many times.

Go to rewards support and you'll see a ton of questions and complaints about it.

 

I didn't find out until now reading this thread. I was level 3, now i'm back at 0. WTF? hoping it's an error that MS fixes

 

It's not an error. They won't change it back now. Their new response when explaining what happened after people share their frustration is "sorry to share the news".

 

Just check and I have a lost a star down to 4.

 

So why isnt everyone reset to zero then ? This needs answering.

Because they reset everyone based on what they spent between September 1, 2014 and August 31, 2015 and the new requirements. They didn't start the program over. So if you spent enough in that year to have reached one of the new levels, you start out at the
new level. If you didn't, you start at 0.

 

So why wasnt i reset to star 2? Ive been a member since it was based on your legend status receiving more than what i was currently getting. They reset that when they changed it to the star system. Enough is enough.

I guess going by what Smwutches is saying, did you earn those stars from the period September 1, 2014 - August 31, 2015? If you had the stars before that, then maybe that's why you got taken back to 0?

Anyway, I agree that it should be consistent across the board, but it's also a warning that you shouldn't rely on the rewards program or the rebate if they can change things at will.

 

No im pretty sure i earned the second star in that period. I dont rely on it but the forever changing face just makes it pathetic to even invest in.

 

I'm five stars but I could care less about the rewards yes it's a nice bonus but it's not something I 'invest' in. I would be buying all that content digitally anyway

 

Well sometimes even though I would be all digital you buy several games to complete a punchcard even though you probably could have waited. I've done this a few times to boost my star rating for future purchases. Not anymore. That's what I mean buy invest.
